Re: for brides who had an adult only reception

I didn't invite any children to the wedding. I think one cousin was offended that his stepdaughter wasn't invited (she's 11) but I didn't have anyone under 18.

No one RSVPd with their children - so I have to say it was pretty drama free where that was concerned.

My invites havent gone out yet but I found out a few of FH's cousins were peeved that their kids werent invited to our Engagement party. Whatever....wouldnt you WANT a night out w/just your significant other? FH & I decided if anyone added an additional person to their RSVP card we are calling them on it. We are both stressed to the max and arent playing these games w/ppl.

were not adult only at least legally, (we have a cutoff age of 13) but 13 is what the Coral House considers adult and charges full price for... so only my nieces and nephews are under 13 and i think only my brother is bringing is 2 toddlers......

ETA: Im sending my invites out this week... so i will find out if people start inviting anyone else

Re: for brides who had an adult only reception

We are having and adult only reception excpet for our daughter. Ppl get upset and some try and rsvp with kids. or even threaten that they won't come. At my mom's second wedding her cousin even brought his kids after being told no children. So my advice would be send out your invites, call ppl who rsvp with kids, if they threaten not to come then they obviously dont really care what you want nor do they really wanna be there for you. And if you have some1 who you know is going to be soo adament to bring their kids anyway don't send the invite.

The only kids we had at the reception were my niece and nephews (all of whom were in the bridal party). But we arranged for a baby sitter for the boys (who were 5 and 6), so they could go to the bridal suite once they got tired.

We had one couple RSVP that only the wife would be attending because the husband had to stay home to watch the kids. I knew they were hinting that I should call them and tell them to bring the kids, but I didn't take the bait. A few weeks before the wedding, the wife e-mailed me to ask if she could bring the kids, so that the husband could come, too, and that of course, they'd put more $$ in the envelope if I agreed. I didn't.

The only kids we're having are my nephews and our FG. Everyone that's been invited who has kids have actually told me that they're HAPPY we didn't invite the kids because they finally get a night away lol!

We wrote on our invitation Adult Reception Only...some might have gotten offended by that but I really didnt care...I didnt want children there and there were no problems with that.

My mom and sister actually spread the word that it was adult only. So people were not surprised when they got the invite. There was no drama. However, I have a feeling that some people wont be happy when they see that their will be about 10 kids there. Our neices, nephews, godson, and little sister will be there, but we had to invite them.

We sent out 'adult only reception' on our invites. So far people have been fine with it. We have a few people who are not going because they couldn't find a babysitter (or didn't try), but for the most part most people expected that their kids would not be invited. Don't know what they say behind our backs though...lol
