For ceremony music, is anyone using a harpist?

I'm thinking about using a harpist just for the ceremony but can't afford over $200.00. Is anyone using a harpist? Do you mind telling me how much they are and what their names are? Thanks

We're thinking of using one too

We just started looking into this also. It was my FH's idea. I don't know who we will use yet but I can tell you that Janet King starts at $425 and that is only for the wedding ceremony. She is considered very expensive. So far we haven't found anyone under $350. Would you consider a flute or s string player? They are cheaper.

Here's a suggestion...

Hi...We are using ceremony and cocktail musicians from a company called Sterling Music Ensembles...We are having a harp with flute and violin for the ceremony and for the cocktail hour we lose the harp and add the piano to the flute and violin....We are paying like $1,200 for all of this............So I am sure you could just get a harpist from them and I think it would be less than Janet King.........I think it is around 300.00 and hour but I could be very wrond...it might be less..........You should inquire...they have a website...hope this helps

I booked Janet King

But she is not cheap. We are paying $400 for her to play 2:40-4:10. (3:00pm ceremony) but our Church also deducts $150 off of their price since we are not using the house musicians.

I called STERLING

I called Sterling and they said a solo harpist would be $425 for one hour. It's b/c they have to lug the harp to your ceremony, I guess it's cheaper to get a flutist or something else.
