Stupid question.. but why would I call a number to get tickets to a movie?

I just realized that I forgot to put the word 'FREE'

I HONESTLY mean NO offense to anyone (I hear this movie is religious and I realize religion can really get people going)

No offense but..

Why call a number to get FREE tickets to a movie? I mean isnt the purpose of a movie is to pay to see it? To support it?

I feel so lost. Its just a movie, right.

But what's wrong with getting a free ticket?

I guess, but the ones who are giving away the free tickets are the 'American Bible Society', so I guess they want as many people to see it as possible to get the word out. Not word on the movie, but word on Christianity. At least that's my guess.

If I wanted people to see a movie about 'Christ' and wanted to spread the word.. Id have them all buy tickets and SEE the movie not give them away.

If I WANTED to see the movie because I was curious... due to all this attention it would turn me off (and has) to the point of not WANTING to see the movie anyhow.

At first I wanted to see it out of pure curiousity.. now I am basically boycotting it. *shrug* shame.. no 'movie' is worth all this.. heck I'd rather go see Lord of the Rings that the same stuff I see every easter. That sounds horrible and iM not meaning to belittle Christianity but this has gotten out of hand.

The american Bible Society BOUGHT all the tickets and is giving them away for free. I really have no intrest in seeing this movie but if I did IF ITS FREE ITS FOR ME!

I dont know what you are talking about.

Based on the initial post (call here for free tickets) it seemed like there was a promotion to see the movie. It happens all the time and if you want to see the movie and can do it for free, what's the big deal?

I see from a subsequent post, there is a religious agenda so that changes the motive that was not mentioned when I posted.

I'll post a topic tomorrow.. I am boycotting cause I cringe at the idea of a room full of people oohing and ahhing at a fictional movie. That sounds really bad.. mark it to the late hour..

That's just it though, they are targeting the people who don't really want to see the movie, or at least the ones who don't want to spend $10 to see it. Those who are really interested in the religion will see it anyway. They're looking for converts.
Whatever, I'm really not interested in the movie, and I won't see it even if it is for free.
