For girls who changed their names after the wedding!
How long did it take to get your new SS card in the mail? I have heard it can take up to 4 weeks! Is this true? Is there a way to get it sooner? Thanks!

mine didn't take that long--it took like 2 weeks, maybe even less

So did you go apply for it in person at a SS center? I found one in Mineola.

i live in queens but yeah, we went in person to the ss office as soon as we got our marriage certificate back. it actually was the easiest part about changing my name!

Mine only took about 2 weeks. I went to the SS office in Long Beach. I was in and out.

I think mine took about a week to 10 days. Not that long.

I got mine in about a week....I went to the office on a Monday and I think it came the following monday.

Mine didn't take that long, and I just mailed my marriage certificate, I didn't even go to an office.
