For girls who have less than perfect arms...i have a question for you!

I am wearing a strapless gown on my wedding day in less than three months and...
I have these tiny pink 'dots' on the back of my upper arms...they are almost like bumps but they are practically smooth. I have gone to several dermatologists over the years but nothing has worked...does anyone have this problem...and if so, any suggestions on how to cover them on my wedding day? They get much better (almost invisible) when i have a good tan (not just a little color) however, my wedding is in October and the chances of me still having a 'good' tan are slim to none...especially since i don't have much of a tan now!

THANKS GIRLS

Hi Annie!

I'm very fair skinned, so for me they never go away. From what I understand they are hereditary. There is a real term for it, but some people call it 'chicken feet.' My dermotologist gave me a cream to use to try & make them look a little less aparent, but it just made it worse for me. Try using lots of lotion, it sometimes can look worse when you skin is dry. Good luck!

I was also going to recommend a tanning salon.

what about that make up thing they sell on tv that covers tatoos and all??

or just leave it - no one will even bother to notice - they will be looking at oyur dress, etc!

I have the same problem - I was wondering the same thing - How to cover them well Dermablend which is sold at macy will cover anything... As for the tan thing - Go to a tanning salon....

I have the same problem - It appears less noticeable when I use an exfoliating cream and moisturize daily. It is very annoying though...I just ignore it but it is a concern that I have been thinking about - now that I have started to look for dresses...

I have the same prob too - I have tried all the dermatologists, creams, you name it and honestly, the only thing that helps are the tanning beds and Jergens cream (cause the tanning dries the skin out anyway.) Even if you just tan a few weeks before the wedding, you'll look great!!

There is make up you can use. I have a scar on my arm and the make-up artist is airbrushing it.

I don't know if this will help but my sister, who has incredibly dry skin has been using Neurtrogena body lotion with active copper (it says that on the label) and her skin has really benefited from it!

i have the same condition and it is called 'chicken skin' or keratosis pilaris. if you go online and do a search you will find alot of products that claim to help diminish it.

i have used the tanning beds and it does help for some reason. maybe b/c it makes the color more even. i used ammonium lactate lotion but it does not help. i moisterize and loofah every day but it really does not help all that much. unfortunately i scratch my arms in my sleep and it makes it so much worse! i just bought the neutrogena body scrub with salycitic acid so i will let you know if it works!

thats so much for the actual medical term - I have been meaning to go to the dermatologist for so long - It has been something that I just learned to live with but maybe I should go and see what he has to say.

my dermatologist said that it is hereditary too. i was thinking about going to someone else! i was wondering if they could do a chemical peel or something?

I have them too, and I got them when I moved to NY. I am from TX and I think during the winters in NY my skin got dry and I rarely used lotion on my arms during the winter. But, I have been told to exfoliate and stay out of the sun!

If you are wearing a veil, it may take away from the dots you notice... if you go tanning DO NOT start a week before your wedding date!! Start going now or in a few weeks to get your body used to it... The LAST thing you want to look like on your wedding day is a giant plum tomato!!!! Try some of the make up the girls on here have suggested or call a make up artist or evena Maryk consultant to suggest makeup, lotions, or whatever. I dont know how tight your budget is, but there's a place in Sayville, right on main street next to Violet Blue (or something violet...) they do airbrush tanning.. they might be able to just cover your spots... good luck!

Try Mystic Tan but do it a few weeks earlier to make sure you like it and then you can just maintain it.
