Well I have been asking my friends and children of my family to be parts of my bridal party. Since my father will either be too ill or no longer with us to attend my wedding, I have decided to ask my big brother to help my mother give me away and stand under the chuppah as the male in my family.
I chose this card and personalized it with clear labels. Of course I will write a message inside to ask him. I hope that by using the labels and the written message inside, that the front of the card won't look too lovey-dovey rather more like big brother/little sister. What do you ladies think.
Absolutely beautiful. You will shed MANY tears writing inside that card... I am so sorry that your father is not doing well.

Thank you for your kind words.
I tend to be a card giver rather than an orator. Some people simply write better than the way they speak. I am much more descriptive with the written word so I thought this would be the best way to do it.

I think so too. Ed stated his intentions to my brother because he could not formally ask for my father's permission to marry me. I guess he is an old fashioned guy.

Thank you but no. My family has too much drama to make it nationwide. And i sincerely doubt my mother would want her likeness on nationwide TV. It was a great idea though.
And don't cry! I told my mom that this has to be fun and happy. We have had too much sadness. Dad in his best of health would want this to be one hell of a celebration. I have to think the way he would and celebrate in his honor.

I think it was a great idea Kathleen and if I didnt have 2 maniacal sisters as well as mother who is a combo of Raymond's mother, George Costanza's mother and Kyle Broslovki's mother, I'd do it in a heartbeat!!!!

While I agree this is so beautiful, I do think the card is lovey dovey. That was my first impression. Of course after reading what your intentions are, it changed my mind, but that was my first thought.
