I am not sure if this was a topic already but... Are there any major regrets/mistakes that you want to make sure current brides don't make?
Please share :)

Oh yeah.... and not to go into detail, but do not think your man 'would never do that' at this bachelor party.... Even the most true men have their moments when they just seem to completely lose their damn mind.... I dont have advice on how to correct it (bc you really cant tell them what they can and cannot do), but just keep that in the back of your mind
OHHH BOY im like liking this one.. Hope ur husband didn't do anything stupid at his bachelor party....

Re: For Past Brides - any regrets or mistakes?
I regret taking too much time going around to all the tables and not taking enough time to dance with friends and family. I never got to dance with my FIL, my BIL, etc.
We were very adamant about not seeing each other before the ceremony and I don't regret that decision at all. It did leave me time crunched throughout the rest of the day with pictures and everything but it didn't ruin my day in the slightest.
I also regret not bringing a backup pair of shoes. I was fidgeting as my dress was being bustled and the heel on one of my shoes broke clean OFF! I had to borrow one of my bridesmaid's pair of shoes and I was upset because then my dress was just a tad too long.

Re: For Past Brides - any regrets or mistakes?
Regrets:
1. Let MIL take over & act like it was her wedding. I look back now & i'm like, why did I even let her be a part of the planning process? When you give someone an inch, they'll take a mile. She wanted to pick my favors, wanted to have a specific centerpiece on her table (I had highs & lows) she wanted her table close to the dais table (I put my foot down there, I wasn't going to let her 5 little grandkids who want to run around to be NEAR my cake...she was annoyed about that but she got over it, b/c that was a damn good reason!) and insisted that we do the Tarantella. Well I don't know what the tarantella is, I don't know how to dance it, & I didn't want to everyone looking at me & wondering why I wasn't dancing...in fact, if they had played it, I would have felt completely out of place, like I was at someone else's wedding, so I'm glad they didn't play it. Well anyways, so she got her favors, but NO Tarantella, No centerpiece she wanted, and she had to sit at table 2 instead of 1 (ps, my parents didn't sit near the dias anyway) and you know what?? She got over it. So don't let anyone bully you into having their way, even if they're helping you financially, ITS YOUR WEDDING, NOT THEIRS AND THEY WILL GET OVER IT while you will kick yourself for not getting what you really want on the one day in your life that its ok to be selfish b/c its about YOU. Go ahead. Be selfish. You're the bride. Screw 'em.
2. I didn't eat enough. Just stop and eat. I was too damn excited and I wish I ate all that yummy food.
3. Don't obsess over details. I know its hard. I had to have the exact shade of pink in my bouquets, drove my florist crazy. Thank goodness she was understanding. But everything works out fine. Don't stress too much over details.
4. Spent too much $$ on FG gifts. My niece like the $10 jewelry box with her name engraved on it more than the necklace I got her. She's a kid. I shoulda gotten her a barbie & the jewelry box.
THINGS I DIDN'T WANT BUT I'M GLAD I DID 1. Videographer -caught so many things I missed. 2. Bridesmaid I had out of obligation -she was a childhood friend that I'm not that close to anymore, but she ended up being the most help to me that day. 3. Relatives that I'm not close to I had to invite, and I'm glad I did. My family is spread out between Europe, Asia, & North America, and people that hadn't seen each other in 10yrs got to see each other & they were really happy, and thankful to me for having an event that brought them together. Their happiness at my wedding made all the stress I went through worth it.

Re: For Past Brides - any regrets or mistakes?
i think one thing i regret is that i worried too much the day of....like if i said hi to everyone, if i spent enough time with one person who travelled far away to be here, if everyone was having a good time, etc.... if i could go back i would try to sit back, relax, and enjoy!

Re: For Past Brides - any regrets or mistakes?
regrets, huh? well just a couple of small things(not really regrets but thing i would change if i could) 1) Not putting my foot down with the limo(who left 1.5 hrs early) and we got only 2 pics witht the limo... 2) Not really enjoying my dinner(steak was dry and FH thought so also but we said nothing about it) 3) not kicking my BM azz when she ripped the back of my dress by stepping on it while drunk! 4) not getting the photobooth
but all in all it went well and im happy with the end result and mostly happy that its all over with and now i get to just be married!!!

Re: For Past Brides - any regrets or mistakes?
Don't bustle your dress before all the formal pictures are taken. I was so sick of carrying my dress around that I bustled it as soon as we got to the reception hall. I wish it wasn't bustled in those pictures.
Make sure someone checks your veil/blusher. My blusher was crooked for the entire reception. I can't even watch my wedding video without getting aggravated about it. The whole time, I'm pushing it out of my face, and it's because it was crooked.

Not doing what I wanted as far as my bridal party...I listened to everyone in my family and did 'the right' thing and regretted it. Choose who YOU want to stand by you on the most important day of your life!
I've already made that mistake.
That's pretty much what prompted me to post this topic - I listened to my mom and asked a girl that I've been friends with for a few years but we've lost touch... I didn't even think to ask her until my mom mentioned her and after I did, regretted it hard core...
Turns out that she's too selfish of a person to be able to give the spotlight to someone else... You know, you think you know a person and then they show their true colors lol
totally agree - I'm in the same boat too...It's too late for me to kick her out. Oh wells...Best of luck :)

Re: For Past Brides - any regrets or mistakes?
Only regret was not having an alternate plan in case of the heat for the outdoor cocktail hour. When we got married 2 weeks ago, we had plans in case if it rained, but not the humidity.
Most of the cocktail hour was spent with guests waiting in the lobby of the Swan Club with the AC on - MY DH & I were the only ones sitting @ the cocktail hour for most of the time!!
