Re: For those couples paying for the wedding themselves...
we didn't - but our invites didn't really have a 'space' for that...
traditionally that wording has been used to show who is paying for the wedding - so i'd have to agree with your FH - the parents shouldn't be on there if you are paying...
I will be honest with you...whenever i receive an invite that does NOT use the parents - i tend to give more to the couple - knowing full well that they paid themselves...

The thing is that my parents are paying for my dress and all the accesories that come with it, they are paying for the band, the rehersal dinner, the favors and some other things in between. So out of respect for them i wanted to include them in there somehow, and i know his parents cant afford to give us anything (i think his mom is payng for the invites, thats it) so just to be nice i wanted to include them too

Re: For those couples paying for the wedding themselves...
I thought of it like this. My mom paid for my dress and offered to pay for the florist. FFIL is helping a tiny bit on our rh payments, so I figured since it is a combined effort from all involved I would just put 'Along with their families' But If your families are not paying for ANYTHING, then I would not put their names

Okay - then I wouldn't say in your case that you are paying for everything...so you SHOULD use your parents!!! Definitely include them - with the 'together with their parents' i think is the appropriate wording for you!

we will probably do together with their parents.

Re: For those couples paying for the wedding themselves...
haha i'm glad i'm not the only one who isn't including them. They told me I was being selfish, but I'm paying for everything - even for their friends I don't know!

Re: For those couples paying for the wedding themselves...
Although FH and I are taking care of the bulk of it, my parents did contribute x amount and his parents want to help with flowers so I guess we'll include them after our names as most of you have mentioned

However, if it is ENTIRELY on you then I would just use your names

Re: For those couples paying for the wedding themselves...
We are paying for EVERYTHING ourselves and thats the way that we want it to be... As far as the invites, Im not sure how we are going to word them... Its a hard situation with my parents, they are going through a slighty ugly divorce and I cant put Mr. and Mrs for my parents so Im confused!!!! Maybe Ill do along with their families as well.. Thats seems to be the best way to word it.. Otherwise we just wont include them.. But I feel a little rude if I dont... Im stuck, any help would be great LOL!
