i was originally just gonna put some bows on the pews and have an aisle runner, but no flowers to save some $$$. my mom freaked when she heard this and said we must have flowers for G-d in the church when we get married. so i guess we will have it decorated some.

Same thing I figured their will still be plenty of flowers on the alter, my wedding is two weeks after Easter I went this year and checked the flowers were still there at least 3 weeks after. So I tell my mom I don't think we need any for the church and I though for a moment she was struck by lightening, I had become her biggest disappointment, the pews MUST be decorated!!!!

okay i HAD to share this. . . i was joking around with MY mom about YOUR moms. . . and decorating the church - my take on it was 'look how funny, who cares about flowers at the church'

YEAH BIG MISTAKE - my mom's head spun around and she looked at me like i was insane. . . then i heard a whole big song and dance about how OF COURSE YOU HAVE TO HAVE FLOWERS AT THE CHURCH WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU!

and a few minutes later i walked past her and she was actually saying under her breath in italian 'no flowers in the church. . . .i still cant believe it!'

SO - I must change my original answer. . . OF COURSE i will have flowers in teh church what kind of person do you think i am??



i guess i will get two arrangements and some pew decorations. . .

No, my church is pretty, so I don't think we'll need it.

Also, we're not having a mass, just a ceremony. My mom said on her wedding day she was so nervous she concentrated on the clock, and her ceremony at her church was 11 minutes long! I just don't feel like it would be worth the money if our ceremony lasts the same length. I mean, I love the way it looks, but I just don't feel like it's practical for me and FH's ceremony.

Although my church is UGLAYYY we are on a tight budget so we are making DIY pew bows and we got a floral arrangement for in front of the altar.

The BMs and myself ARE the decoration!!

I'm going have tons of white flowers inside the church and white bows on the first half of the pews. Outside I'm going to have tulle lace and white bows hanging on the railings on the church steps.

My church is very plain an ugly...I wanted to actually go to another church but decided not to since I had all my other sacraments there.

Anyway...as for decorating I am doing to large basket arrangements at the front and for the first ten pews im doing toole poofs (thats what the florist called them) with rose petals inside.

lol I know what you mean Jen! I'm getting married there too but luckily my wedding is the weekend after Easter so the church will already be decorated with tons of flowers. I am going to do something simple for the frong pews though.

and I am also getting married there!! I was told they would still be decorated for Christmas. . . if not I dont really care. . .I am only doing a 30 minute ceremony so I won't be decorating at all - just flowers to be presented to Mary!

PS - i dont think its ugly just plain!!

Oh man! I guess I should check if they will be decorated still for Thanksgiving....I will have to break in there at like midnight the night beofre They cant ruin my vision!!!!!!!!hehehe
