For those getting married in springy/summerish months....

Original post by NikkiR515

Are your bridesmaids dresses long or shorter? My mom seems to think that all bridesmaids dresses should be floor length whereas I kind of like the tea length look.... What do you guys think?

is it a day or night wedding?

Well the ceremony is in the day but the reception is a Friday evening... I was told that since it is a Friday night I should go with a long dress... It is just hard because I know that no one will use a long dress again... especially in the colors I am doing! (pink and brown combo)

Nicole, as one of your BMs Do what YOU want. Like I said before, the day is all about what you and Mike want. I know you want everyone to be comfortable and make everyone happy, but again its what you want. Do you want to pick something you're not happy with and then years from now look at wedding pictures, or on the day, and regret not going with your gut or what you wanted because its not the look you were going for. I am happy with whatever you choose. I think the colors look GREAT together. I know you want a short dress, but if you decide you want a long one, we can always have it altered to make it tea length, so using it again is not an issue. Call me if you need to vent

BM's are wearing tea length. my wedding is also in the day 2 and not too formal.

It isn''t the month that matters. Normally a Sat. night wedding is more formal so the long dress is more formal. If its a Sunday or afternoon then it doesn't matter. Or atleast thats what my mother told me.

I would have liked my BMs to have tea-length but... 2 out of 3 of them have ankle tattoos so I think I am going with floor length. I don't want the tattoos in my pictures.

ETA: My reception is a Saturday night and I want it to be a formal affair as well. So that is another reason why I want floor length.

Im getting married in July and Im doing long dresses. My ceremony is in the evening in a church, If I did a day time out door wedding, then I would definately consider the short dresses... I think they are soo pretty..

I have a pretty decent size tattoo on my chest and there is NOOOOOOOOO dress that would ever cover it. There is a tattoo cover kit that i've seen around and from what I hear about It it dies a great Job

I hope so for my pics sake LOL

when I got it done I was totally against the idea of getting married at all but here we are today

We are August and are doing long dresses. We did pick a very very lightweight fabric though so it is still summery and won't be too heavy. I was never a huge fan of tea-length for myself, I always preferred long or knee-length. My friend was a bridesmaid in a wedding where the tea-length dresses were altered all different lengths which bothered me (I'm really anal).

I attached a pic of the tea-length dresses that were altered all different lengths. I'm not sure how to get around that problem but it's something you might want to keep in mind.

why is there such a huge difference between the girls in this pic? is that 'normal' ??? ive never seen that before!

either thoes girls never got together to check their dress lengths or the seamstress was horrible if it's done correctly the dresses should all be the same length may fall on different spots on the girls but wow thats just horrible

I am getting married in July and I want tea length. One of my bridesmaids hates tea length so I was going to stick with long, but I really think I would rather tea length. I think when it is hot she will thank me for tea length.

I think it really depends on the time of your wedding. I am getting married in May but it is a night affair so i am doing floor length dresses.

My mom says the exact same thing. I wanted T-length originally, but she is slowly talking me out of it. I am not sure what I will wind up with!

the wedding was in NY but the bridesmaids were from all over the country so they all had them altered different places. I guess each tailor did what he thought would look good on each girl.
