We have a florist appt on Saturday and was just wondering how many of you getting married in church are also decorating the church (with flowers or bows, etc) and is it bad if we don't. We're trying to cut corners wherever we can...TIA

Re: For those having a church wedding...
We are just getting pew bows. The church provides two altar arrangements as part of the fee/donation/whatever it is.

I'm not... I am going to do bows myslef and sprinkle some petals but other than that... nope.... I feel it's a bit of a waste we are only there for an hour tops... no one will notice if there arn't any alter flowers
I feel the same way. My friend told me you never even saw the church flowers in her pics...they were a complete waste. I might do bows on my own.

Re: For those having a church wedding...
im getting married the week after you, and my church keeps Easter decorations (flowers on the altar) for the full '50 days of easter' which includes my wedding weekend next year....
i would look into seeing if your church decorates w/flowers for easter, and if they keep them up through those few weekends....if so, then u don't need altar flowers!!!
also, my florist threw in pew bows along w/my package, so we don't even have to pay for them!
see if ur florist will throw in pew bows!

Re: For those having a church wedding...
i'm not decorating my church for 3 reasons - my church is pretty enough without flowers, my brother and SIL didn't decorate the church (same church i'm using) and no one noticed, and my wedding is the day before palm sunday, so the church told me not to waste money on flowers if they have to be taken down right after the mass anyway. i might get pew bows, haven't decided yet.

We are having 2 alter pieces, pew bows and large wreaths for the church doors. All which will be brought the reception.

Re: For those having a church wedding...
I know someone else posted this idea and I fell in love...we are doing lanterns on the pews and maybe a few arrangements up front. We are getting married during communion season also so we are hoping that we can use them.

Re: For those having a church wedding...
Im getting married in a church and planning on decorating it. I'll have bows on the pews and maybe something on the altar and some stuff outside like tulle on the railings etc

Re: For those having a church wedding...
My church is breathtaking but I still wanted some flowers. We are doing two large alter pieces, and aisle pieces as well. The aisle pieces wil be a white tulle bow on every other pew, with white hydrangea tucked underneath.

I will not have any flowers (well that can change lol)
My nana will do the bows on the pew and i might have her do the ribbon to attach them together and maybe a few flowers behind the bow.
here is a pic of how i want the pews to look

I'm not decorating the church bc its not necessary and they would prefer if you didn't as they feel its already decorated enough.

I wonder when they put the ribbon on the pews, as during the show everyone used the center aisle to get in their seats... gotta luv reality television
