as I sat on the floor in my bedroom giving myself a mani-pedi, I thought about how much I would love to be getting a professional one, but the $$ definitely adds up and can go towards other things I need. Saving for a wedding sometimes means sacrificing the little pleasures in life. So I was wondering...what, if anything, have you had to sacrifice, give up, or go without in order to save for your wedding??

Re: for those of us making sacrifices
We don't eat out as much, but thats a good thing. The food is fattening anyway. Who wants to have an extra 15-20 lbs to lose before their wedding anyway . We go out maybe once a month for my son Lucas( When he gets good grades etc). Other than that, we haven't given up much. If we don't have the cash, we don't do anything. We make believe we have NO credit cards. Besides, who wants to pay interest on a 100.00 dinner or a night out drinking? Not us!!

I don't think there's any one particular thing we gave up but I've definitely become more mindful of my $ and trying not to spend too much overall on things I don't really need.

Re: for those of us making sacrifices
Well since we are paying for the wedding & FH still hasn't found a job since being laid off....
-cut back on Starbucks -no clothes shopping -no eating out, unless we are out doing stuff & we are hungry...but then it's like Wendy's..haha -get my hair done like every 6 months instead of every 3 -pretty much no going out -traded in my SUV for a fuel efficient hatchback -groom the dogs myself (even the pets are sacrificing! hahaha) can't wait for him to get a job!!!!
we haven't given up anything really we really need to start!
Yikes! Us too! I have curbed my shopping a 'bit' (and I used the term 'a bit' very lightly) but not as much as I should be!!!

Shopping for me .... I cant say I stopped - but I def limited myself ALOT!
We still go out to eat, and to the movies - but we are more careful with how we spend our money.

SHOPPING and we really don't eat out as much as we used to especially on the weekends. I have not gone to dinner with my friends in months. . .and it truly does save up.

Re: for those of us making sacrifices
We try to only go out once a week, if that. Lots of Dollar menu side salads for me and dollar menu burgers for him. We actually had a FULL meal at Wendy's last night for like $9 and change!! Gotta love that DOllar menu!! We don't buy clothes or dvds or anyhting exstravagant anymore. I DO get my nails done like once every 3-4 weeks, but I have this beautiful ring to show off, I am not going to have nasty nails!! He has also tried to cut down his smoking and the beers he orders HAVE to be 2fers other wise it's one and that's it baby!

Re: for those of us making sacrifices
FH and I stopped going out to dinner every friday. Now we only go out once a month. I also stopped my monthly shopping sprees. I can't remember the last time i bought something for myself that wasn't wedding related or from the grocery store.
