for those of us making sacrifices

Original post by AlBaBride

as I sat on the floor in my bedroom giving myself a mani-pedi, I thought about how much I would love to be getting a professional one, but the $$ definitely adds up and can go towards other things I need. Saving for a wedding sometimes means sacrificing the little pleasures in life. So I was wondering...what, if anything, have you had to sacrifice, give up, or go without in order to save for your wedding??

I stopped shopping. I use to always splurge on a bag or shoes.

Not anymore!

No more Starbucks
No more breakfast from the deli every day
No more out to dinner 5 nights a week
No more mani/pedi
NO MORE BAGS!!!

Now i actually balance my check book so I know where every penny is. But I think if we ever want a house, all of these sacrifices are going to be permanent!

I have to say even though we are struggling like crazy, I've still been spending like crazy.....My FSIL is having a baby and I am helping throwing her a shower, plus I can't seem to control my scrapbooking habits.... Wish I could save more!!!!

Oh man - well we haven't done a lot - we cut back going out to eat to once a week and we try to cook at home more. We don't go out drinking a lot (we drink at home - you get so much more for your money!!) I haven't gone shopping in AGES and I need clothes so badly!! UGH - can't wait until this wedding is OVER!!
