for those of you who did save the date cards yourself
I am currently attempting to make save the date cards..we are printing them on business cardsa and them getting business size self-stick amgnets. Did anyone put anything ontop of the card to seal it so it did not feel like paper.I am not even sure if I am explaining myself correctly. You know when you get a magnet from a store...it feels like there is laminant over it...did anyone do that...or have some suggestions....we are sending them out 1 year till our wedding ..so I am trying to get them to last at least for a little while (we have lots of family comming from CA and Washington state.thanks in Advance

I didn't do them but what if you laminated the card before you attached it to the magnet?? This way if they go thru the mail and somehow get wet they'll still look good and they'll be sturdier. You can buy the self stick laminate- or even contact paper maybe???

you can laminate the paper then stick it to the magnet. try to do it woth the font and back all laminated, then try with just the front laminate...leaving most of the back exposed. The reason I say that is that over time, the laminated piece may come undone from the sticky side of the magnet.Do a test and see if you think it holds firmly enough!!
Good Luck! Let me know if you have any questions!!

What about going for a glossy card? I have seen matte business cards and glossy ones as well. I am sure staples or office max has a lot of choices. good luck. i too am planning to make my own save the date cards. i am getting post cards, will print out the words on the front, i got a post card stamp made up to put on the back so it looks vintage, then i am deckle cutting the edges and then sending them off. it is a pain in the a*& but it will look unique. as i said, GOOD LUCKWelcome New Vendors
