For those recently engaged....Save the Date advice.....

For those recently engaged....Save the Date advice.....

Take some advice from brides that have already been there. (Please ladies, add your advice too)

This is a great time and you want to share it with EVERYBODY!!! But don't hand out save-the-dates to everybody you know. Only hand them to those you are DEFINATELY inviting, including family and CLOSE friends. Things change between now and the wedding.

You might have handed it to a co-worker when you got engaged, but now you're at a different job. Sorry, you're stuck inviting them. You might have handed them to your second cousin, but realized just your first cousins already take up 200 people. Sorry, you're stuck inviting them.

Think hard about who you give them to. Just because you DON'T give them to people doesn't mean you can't invite them. Just want to give you a heads up! Anybody else with advice?

Good advice!

My advice - get SMALL thank you cards. I made the mistake of getting 5x7s and felt like I had to write a book inside to fill it up otherwise it looked really empty.

And be sure your date won't change for any reason (like your FILs adding 150 invitees to the guest list you all agreed to keep at 120-130!) because then when the invites go out, people are confused! How do I know...well, DH's grandmother was confused!
