Don't you hate it when people say 'why so big'. My mom even said why don't you just have everyone stand up there w/you!
We are having a large wedding (we didn't want to but the FH family is so huge, we had no choice and eloping was not an option). So we decided to have a large bridal party to make it more personal and intimate for those we picked. It's our way of having them more involved in our day.
We have: 9 Bridesmaids (including MOH) 7 Groomsmen (including BH) 2 Jr. bridesmaids 2 jr. groomsmen
Do you think that's a lot of people? We are inviting 280 to our wedding and expecting 220?

I come from a big family, but people still make a comment when I tell them how many people we are having in the BP.
I am not a fan of big bridal parties and I have said that in the past, BUT you ladies made me realize one thing - its nobody's business. I understand and respect your choices regardless of what I would choose for myself.
I just wish people in MY world would respect MY choices for wanting a SMALL bridal party devoid of my sisters, SILS, FSILS and who ever else people THINK belongs next to me on my day. I decide who stands next to me and nobody else. Just because I don't stick you in a doofy dress that you will only wear once, doesn't mean I don't love you. Maybe I want a drama free wedding experience.
When push comes to shove, it is your's and your FH's day and ultimately, it is the two of you who need to be happy.

I'm inviting 360 and have 9 ladies and 9 men in the bridal party.
I get the comments, but I don't care. I am so happy with each and everyone of our friends and family in our bridal party.
I also don't think it's an issue with pictures. My cousin had about 12 guys and gals, plus little kids and we didn't have an ounce of trouble. I don't know where that thought comes from...

Wow! Exactly! We too have a small BP. AND one of FH's Sisters & family are not in the BP...the other is... She brings drama where ever she goes and we both did not want that. I know it's totally off post, but I just wanted to say Thanks to Goldi1021 for posting this. It makes me feel so much better!

I had something like 22, including all our neices and nephews - who cares what anyone else thinks? You will learn that everyone has an opinion and they won't all mesh well together. It's YOUR DAY! Do what you want.
