Is your per room rate lower than if you randomly went online and booked a room for that night? Mine is more expensive and I am supposedly getting a discounted rate for blocking rooms!?!?! The sales manager will not call me back and I am FUMING!

Isn't that the point of a block?? To give a better rate??? I would be beyond upset if I looked online and could get a better rate Just off the top of my head our rooms were like $40-$50 cheaper than the advertised rates.

I am about to flip the &*%# out! I cannot believe this. I JUST sealed 1/2 of my invites with the room rate on the accommodation cards. I called them and the sales manager is not in her office right now and she is the only person that can deal with room blocks.
I just took their word that I was getting a discount! I am such an @SS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I signed the contract with $189 as the room rate...are they going to MAKE me honor that?!?!?!?!

the 'deal' one hotel was giving me was a whopping $5 less..... so I didnt block any rooms.

Hey Mylobster...your wedding is a week after mine & my rates are lower. I have $169- and $179 at 2 different hotels. FM if you would like to talk. I also have $145- at the Red Roof...but didn't enclose that in my invite. I am doing that one by word of mouth.

we blocked at 2 hotels, the one was more because they would put everyone together and that takes more work on the hotels part....i think its B S but whatever.... the other was 10 bucks cheaper but its definitely a cheaper hotel, if you know what i mean.... so i had both

Ha ha ha they charge more bc it's more work to put the rooms together?!?! Wow...this wedding business is a crock! I guarantee if it was just a bunch of ppl staying there together...it would not be that way!

We blocked off rooms at the Best Western in Massapequa for a steal $117 a night. I tried to book a room right now on their web site for the same date and it was like $140.

Mine room block was about $ 50 - $60 cheaper then online. I don't know though if that is because I am having my reception at the hotel. I thought the rate I got was great since it is a holiday weekend.

I haven't booked yet but have gotten quotes from one for about $25 cheaper than the online rates, but the other one is only $5 cheaper. I am trying to see if either will allow quests to check in early (my wedding's at 11 am) or if they will provide a shuttle service using their hotel van. Has anyone ever gotten either of these things from hotels? If so, which hotels were willing to work with you?
