for those who have long straight hair...

how are you doing your hair for your wedding? i have long staright hair. it has some body. this summer i difused it a few times w/the hair dryer and it came out very wavey. so ive been thinking about what to do w/my hair and i hate my hair up. i want to do 1/2 up 1/2 down and make it wavey. my mom said it wont stay. i havent had a trial yet but i want to know if anyone w/ kinda straight hair has curled/waved there hair for a 1/2 up do and if it held. sorry if im confusing you guys!

MY hair is darn straight to - not that long though - medium. I have trouble keeping it down. If I have curls it gets frazzled. But i am sure your hair stylist can pretty much do wonders. Try to work with a few and see what shapes your face well. I would probaly wear most of it up with some dropped here and there.

my hair is like that, i would love to wear it down, but i'm afraid it'll get too hot.

thats what my mom and sis keep saying but here is the thing. i NEVER wear my hair up because i hate the way it looks on me. i could be sweating like crazy at the gym and refuse to put it up. so i dont want to look so different on my wedding day. i want to wear it in a style wear my hair can be down. well 1/2 and 1/2.

Aqua net does wonders.....SERIOUSLY!!! I got my hair done for my bff wedding (half up half down w/curls) at about 10:30 in the morning and it stayed PERFECT until about 3:00 in the morning

thank you...

it did start to fall out a bit toward the end of the day -- but it didn't look bad IMO

I also have long straight hair and I wore it half up/down. She curled my hair with a curling iron, sprayed it with hairspray and then pinned each one up in a. Then she let them down about 2 hours later (the other girls got set during that time) and ran her hands through them so they wouldn't be so tight. She went over some areas with a curling iron. It looked like a mix between my two trials. I loved it.

honestly the only thing you can do is go for trials ya know. 1/2 up 1/2 down could totally work. i know what you mean about never wearing it up, i always have my hair up so it would look strange if i had it down

Re: for those who have long straight hair...

i think stylists will tend to use curling product that hold the curl..although we all know by experience that curls can't stick around for THAT long...but if you want to go for a half-up/half-down look, def. try to seek out recommendations of stylists on the board!

My hair is long, thick and wavy. I don't know if I will wear it half up/half down or all up.

My dress is pretty ornate on top and I don't want my hair to cover it.

Mine is the same way. Its pretty much straight and won't hold a curl for more than an hour or so. I'm in the market for a hair style too that isnt completely 'up.'
