How do/did you keep all your BM informed of everything that needs to be done. I don't want to them to feel like I am barking order at them but, trying to organize 7 girls is seeming like a big task. They also all don't get along or all don't know eacj other that well. HELP! help me get my bridal party togther as a group.

Re: for those who have/have had a larger bridal party
I'm facing similar issues with my BMs. Though they do all get along, they are spread out all over LI, NYC, NJ and one is in NC. And I have 7 also. For now, I'm planning on keeping them updated via e-mail. They all know that I'm the over-organized, over-planner type so I'm hoping they be ok with me making up timelines and such for them. I'm going to try to give them plenty of advance notice for everything. I also created a wedding webpage that they can check often for updates, vote for BM dresses, etc etc.
But when it's time to get them together, I have no idea how that's going to turn out so I'll be very interested in your replies to this post!

Re: for those who have/have had a larger bridal party
My bridal party is on the larger side too and what I think I may do is get all the girls together (if possible, most are in LI but one is in Boston, one is in Florida and another in Jersey) for an initial 'get together', ask them to swap phone numbers/e-mails and task each or most of them with being in charge of certain issues. I hope that for the simple sake that it is my wedding day, they can network with each other throughout the process and I can act as sort of a distant facilitator. Who knows if this will work but for now, its the only plan I can think of.

Re: for those who have/have had a larger bridal party
I have 8 bms and I email them all every week/2 weeks regarding planning. Most of them are in the Tri State Area, but 2 are in upstate NY, one's in AZ, and another in FL. They are all getting along well, even though they mostly don't know each other (5 are from college, but they don't all know each other, and three are from home/childhood).
Anyway, they've all started to email each other behind my back planning all these great things to do! I love my girls!!!
Seriously, mention the Bridesmaid newsletter to your MoH. You can keep her heavily involved and then she'll keep the rest up to date - email distribution lists are REALLY easy to set up.

Re: for those who have/have had a larger bridal party
I called them all constantly letting them know everything that was going on. Luckly for me, I had the best girls ever! They were all very cooperative. One month before our wedding I sent out a little newsletter with all the little last minute details.

I have seven girls in my BP too and they all don't know each other THAT well. I totally agree, I don't want to come off as bossy to my MOH but I want things to be organized.

I e-mail them and my sister who is my MOH has their e-mails as well. I also sent their e-mails to each other so they could keep in touch.

Re: for those who have/have had a larger bridal party
I e-mailed everyone and made sure to tell them what I needed ahead of time. It worked out beautifully. I had 11 girls.

Re: for those who have/have had a larger bridal party
I sent out an initial letter with everyone's contact info so that they would be able to contact one another if need be as well as what their duties were. I also send out a newsletter once a month which is helpful to those who don't have access to a computer.

Re: for those who have/have had a larger bridal party
I have 5 girls and I just email them. I am working on a bridesmaid newsletter that I am going to send out once I have all my vendors booked. I talk to my Maid of honor as much as I can and let her know of things this way if anyone has questions she'll have the answers

Re: for those who have/have had a larger bridal party
I gave up trying to get them together for my favors, so I called them for my bachelorette party and TOLD them FLAT out.. 'OkeyDokeys, 8pm Friday, be there. If you can make it good, If you cant, dont' That seemed to work, andI got them all (except for 1) together.. As far as dress shopping in the beginning, I picked out the dress and took a few trips to the Bridal store for them to see it with me and left it all up to them to order it and everything.. I had Six girls, 7 guys, 4 FG's and a RB. Good Luck!

Re: for those who have/have had a larger bridal party
I have 11 girls in mine, and they are everywhere (LI, NYC, California, New Orleans, Missouri, etc---AHHH!! :) I find e-mailing is the best thing, but I do call them too just to follow up. I also have my 2 sisters pitching in and helping--All of them know each other and are friends, so it's not so bad---
