I know they have this post on BHB but I wanted to hear from the 06ers.
What things do you feel you:
1. didnt need to include in your wedding/were a waste of time or money?
AND
2. What do you wish you did differently? Would change? Etc
THANKS

Re: For you old married ladies...
1. waste of time or money, nadda. Maybe I would have done another favor, but it took us forever to decide on something, but I know a couple of people who liked it.
AND
2. I wish I would have lost more weight, been more motivated. That's about it

Re: For you old married ladies...
I was worried about not having place card holders - no one cared except for me and the place card table looked fine.
My veil and headpiece were a waste of money; wish I'd not listened to my mom and gone without a headpiece and a plain veil.
I worried about OOT bags, ran out of time to do them and just left a letter for all of our guests - no one cared.
I would change the way I reacted to certain people who seemed to purposely press my buttons the morning of the wedding. I wish that I'd just been calmer in dealing with them because they weren't worth crying about.

To answer what I didn't need to include or were a waste of money 1) Slipper basket: I wanted to do it but didn't have the funds, no one noticed 2) Bathroom baskets: People used items but truly no one cared 3) Place card frames: didn't have them & I used bells attached to the cards, Personally I think they looked beautiful
What i wished I did differently? Honestly I can say, NOTHING!!! I was so happy & pleased with everything, if I did it all over again, I would not have changed a thing! Only bad thing that happened on my wedding day, I had that flu, so I didn't get to eat!!!

Waste of money and time: Photo cube. All of our envelopes were put in the caterers safe and YES we did get them all back.
I wish I would have not let little things get to me - THAT I would have done differently.

Re: For you old married ladies...
nothing we did was a waste of time or $$. We didn't really do too much in the way of DIY or beyond what our hall provided for us.
The only thing I would have done differently would have thought to bring a tylenol PM (!!) or something with me to the hotel. I got literally NO SLEEP whatsoever the night before my wedding. I'm prone to this so I don't know why I didn't consider it ahead of time.

We did it all DIY so looking back, Im glad I didnt waste $ on extravagant placecards, invites, menus, favors and programs.
I may have had it at a less expensive place even though it was incredible. I look back and think, Dang! that down payment for a house would look pretty good right now!!!

Re: For you old married ladies...
I didn't waste money on anything. I was very happy how we spent our money.
The only thing I would've done differently is danced more. I was so concerned that I should talk with people, on both sides, equally that I didn't really have fun. But we hear everyone had a great time, so I guess that's all that matters.
I really do wish I had looked at myself in the mirror after I was dressed. (You'd think it would be a gvien, but as soon as your dressed it's all about photos and go here and there) I didn't do that and the first time I actually saw myself as a bride was in the reflection walking into the reception hall, 5 hours after getting dressed!

Re: For you old married ladies...
I really would not change a thing but if I had to get REALLY picky, hmmmmm, probably not worried so much about getting the right bra. I took off my bra for the after party and I felt great! Oh, and I would have had my BMs go to a different dress shop, even if they had to spend a little bit more.

Re: For you old married ladies...
I was glad I didn't do the petal cones. They would have gone to waste. Everyone just grabbed rose petals out of the plastic bag. I wanted to do the slipper basket but ran out of time. No one missed it.
I am glad I did the card box. Lots of people commented on how nice it was. I am also happy I did the votive placecard holders. To this day, people are still commenting on how nice it was and that they still have them (with the vellum and all) in their houses.

Re: For you old married ladies...
I would have waited to buy certain things. I wasted money on too many veils, tiaras & shoes, but luckily I wore the ones I chose last!!
The only thing I'm debating on whether it was a waste or not was the customized aisle runner. No one mentioned it at all, don't even know if anyone noticed it. I guess when I get my proofs back, we'll see if it was worth it.
All of my DIY projects and the little things everyone noticed and commented on from the slipper basket to the photo cube, so that was money well spent.
I wish I would have chosen a different place to get the BM dresses and my dress. I wish I would have lost some weight. I wish I didn't stress little things that pissed me off that day. I had as much fun as I could, but things still stood in the back of my head, and I should just let it go.

The only things I would have done differently..I would have made it so I could take my veil off and I would have gotten lighter flowers for the guys (I had burgandy callas and all you see in the pictures is a green stem)

Re: For you old married ladies...
1. Waste of $$, my purse for the day...never used...and my monogrammed garter...no one saw it since I didn't throw it. Also, all the hair accessories I bought and didn't end up using. I have a ton of hair pins now, that I will probably never use. I should have just ordered my hair brooch from the get go instead of trying to save $$.
2. Wish I stuck to my must take picture list. I don't have any pics of my and my high school friends/college friends/work friends b/c I was too busy dancing and told my photog not to worry about it.
