Okay, so I have been looking into a company called Forever Video. They were recommended by another bride here on LIWeddings. Their packages are great but the only thing is, they are based out of Canada. They have a guy who does the NY weddings. I sent an email asking if I could possibly meet the guy who does the NY weddings before sending the deposit back with the contract and he replied back that the company's policy is that clients can contact the videographer AFTER signing the contract...I think this sounds a little weird. I have only dealt with this guy through email. But the other LIWeddings bride had a good experience with them...Should I book them?

i would be weary....i dont know who you spoke to about them but honestly....we dont really KNOW anyone on thse boards you never know what can happen. I wouldnt feel right sending money to canada before meeting this person. Whos to say its not a scam? JMO

I would honestly say go with your gut. You posted because you think it's weird - that's a sign right there. I'd be concerned and not do it. There are a ton of good people out there...

that's sort of how Bella Studios works for photography... i wasnt comfortable with it, but it's not totally unheard of either. the company wants to make sure you book through them, and not straight through him... they'd lose money if you did... you know?

I wonder if they have a 'pool' of videographers and the farm work out to them once a contract is booked. I'm not sure. I would be weary b/c I like to meet the vendors before leaving a deposit. Another LIwedding bride used them, so maye its not a scam, but what if you don't like the video guy? Then you are stuck, right?

i dont like the sound of it one bit i would not sign a contract before meeting with anyone face to face
i dont think that sounds right! if they wont let you meet with someone before you sign a contract then that is not good buisness i would look else where
