So we ordered our sofas from Fortunoff in October and they were due to come in this month. I called them today because no word as of yet and guess what they told me!!!!!!
'Wow, this is so strange, we wont have your sofas in our warehouse until earliest May, you know if you would like to cancel because of the wait, you are certainly within your rights.'
Now, this was a custom order and it clearly says on the receipt NO CANCELATIONS ON CUSTOM ORDERS. Also, why wouldn't it be in the warehouse until earliest May when I ordered in October???? Finally, whats up with the 'you know you can cancel...' they didn't even give me a chance to say a word before he was telling me to cancel my order. Somethings up over there for sure. Needless to say FH and I will be sofa shopping tomorrow afternoon.

When did they originally say you were getting the couch?

This week is actually 17 weeks exactly and the salesman said it would most likely be earlier as they overestimate to allow time.

Re: FORTUNOFF DRAMA
they are WACKOs no wonder they are going out of business. My parents bought a kichten set from them in July-Aug, they told them it would be in around Nov. Comes Nov someone calls and says it wont be in till Jan-feb, the following day someone else calls and says its in EARLY!!
Go to the Clerance Center they have a good sofa selection from time to time. Also they prob want to get rid of the stuff and will give you a % off

OMG How annoying of them. Go take a look at Macys on Glen Cove Road, me and FH just went to order our couch there on Friday, they are having a huge furniture sale until tomorrow, things are on sale plus there are no taxes.

I can't believe whats going on over there, and we're getting so many different stories, and when people call it's worse because no one there even KNOWS whats going on. If you're looking for couches, go to Raymour and Flanigan on Old Country Road, they have great stuff, prices are good, and the financing can't be beat!!!

Re: FORTUNOFF DRAMA
Hi I just wanted to tell you that I think you should take the money. I was a designer for a very well known hi end furniture store in Suffolk county for a few years and when the private owner was selling to corporate he stopped paying the vendors and manufacturers so even though people were paying for there furniture they were not getting it! The furniture was not getting delivered to the store since the manufactures were not getting paid the clients were just being told that it was coming and the dates kept getting pushed back. Well then the company sold and the people were out there money and didn't get there furniture.......I Don't want to scare you but with the economy the way it is I think you should get your money back or ask for some more information as to why it is delayed and what will happen when the store closes........Good Luck
