Fortunoff or Macy's

Fortunoff or Macy's

I plan on registering at Bed, Bath and Beyond but don't know whether the second one should be Fortunoff or Macy's....which are you using. Any good or bad experiences?

Fortunoff and Macy's basically have the same items but I prefer Fortunoff and thats who I registered with along with Crate & Barrel. I didn't experience any problems although you may find certain items to become discontinued but I guess thats expected with any store.

I've registered at both Macy's and Fortunoffs and I think there are a lot more perks with Macy's and better customer service. For every item purchased off your Macy's registry, you get 15 % towards a coupon you'll get after you get married. They have many of the same things but I thought Macy's had a bit more. Good luck

I went with Macy's since they're more accessible for everyone.... Fortunoff's has a limited number of locations out here...

I went with Fortunoff's I love that store. I have always found when shopping off the registry for other people at Macy's they never have anything on the registry. Everything has to be special ordered. I have also run into many instances where items in Macy's were discontinued. That is JMO.

I will most likely do Bed,Bath & Beyond and Fortunoff....when the time comes for me to register....

I've heard horror stories for Fortunoff's....and for some reason, I have 3 registries there...I need to have them fix that...each time I edit our registry there, it adds just gives me a new one....i checked to make sure it wasn't related to me being 'signed in', i did a regular search like i was looking for someone's registry and i have 3!!!

My fiance and I have had MANY horror stories with Fortunoff in the past. I would advise against it!!!

I have posted about my experience with Macy's and how I was so disappointed I picked that place to register at. Their customer service sucked and so does the selection. Personally, if I could do it all over again, I would only register at Bed, Bath and Beyond. They have EVERYTHING you could possibly want. The thing that ticked me off the most is that my fine china cost 80.00 a setting at BB&B and 150.00 at Macy's. What kind of crap is that? Needless to say, I put all of the china on BB&B. IMO...there was really no need to register at two places.

I would pick MACY's over Fortunoff but if anything at Fortunoff that is on your MACY's registry goes on sale, MACY's will honor the Fortunoff price. Some of my guests asked me which store to purchase china place settings and I told them to buy it at MACY's. MACY's called Fortunoff to check that they were on sale with a bonus, honored the sale AND the bonus and we were able to get Star Rewards points and one heck of a gift card when the completion period is over. ALSO MACY's lets you go back as many times as you need to within the 90 days to complete your registry and they let you use the 10% off each time. Not just once or twice. They are always nice when we go there.

I would pick Fortunoff. I've had good experiences there and I think their selection is better than a lot of the Macy's stores. Also, when I have ordered something crystal or china in the past, they have it in stock where Macy's has to order it.

They have a lot of similar items to Bed Bath and Beyond as well (I registered there too) and if more people end up buying there (which I know they will) I will just move stuff from one registry to the other.

I registered at Macys just because it was more convenient for
my guests to shop at.

Macy's. When I went to Fortunoff's on 2 different occasions, I dealt with 2 different women to help me and both of them were equally rude. I will not shop there anymore.

I heard Macy's discontinued a ton of registry-items today. Brides on The Knot's boston board were freaking out because they all got these e-mails with half their registry discontinued.

I didn't register at Macy's because of the terrible experience my sister had with her registry there. FM me if you want more info.

We did BBB, Macys and Fortunoff...BBB was a given and i really only wanted Macy's (not fortunoff) because everyone in the free world is familiar with Macy's and I knew OOT guests would have no problem with it. But we had to do Fortunoff too. FMIL insisted because FH's family is from Westbury and they all shop there for wedding gifts.

I am partial to MACYS and agree with a previous poster who said that there are more locations nationwide. We decided MACYS, BBB, and Target. But you do what is the best option for you and FH.

I did both Fortunoff and Macy's and enjoyed my experiences registering at both. Fotunoff has more events and deals, but Macy's is more accessible for most people and have cheaper items. So far I am happy with both! We'll what happens once people actually start buying things!
