We found a dog in Oceanside over the weekend, put up signs but haven't heard anything. I wanted to post his picture on here incase anyone knows of someone who lost a dog. He's so adorable! He's at the animal shelter in wantagh now so here's a link to their site: http://search.petfinder.com/petnote/displaypet.cgi?petid=7557665 Please don't mind the stains on the blanket (they're not from the dog). It's a blanket from the garage

Thanks for all the info girls. I didn't realize they would only wait 5-7 days! That just seems inhumane. I contacted bid a wee and DH is going to call the shelter within in the hour. Thanks again.
Oh good -- thank God!!
Yes, maybe you can at least take him in until Bide-a-wee can get back to you and can find a place for him- It would make me just sick if something happened to him b/c he is a perfectly fine dog!! What a shame!!!
Update us!!!

Re: Found a dog
My mom found a dog once and took it to that shelter and they said he had 5 days to be adopted or claimed so he ended up being ours in the end. My mom made sure to tell them that she would adopt him if no one came forward and she called every day to see if he was claimed or adopted and to make sure they didn't put him down. OMG, I hope they find his owners. I had a beagle when I was little. They are the sweetest. I feel so bad for that little guy. He is probably scared to death. Try Craigslist.com. I just saw they have a place where people post missing or found pets. Keep us posted!!

Re: Found a dog
Aww how sad :( U couldnt keep him? The poor thing is stuck in a small cage in the shelter :(
Find out if he is MICROCHIPPED, most dogs these days are. The shelter will be able to tell. Call them and see if they can scan his head for a microchip. They probably may have done that.
I live in the area, and I know the people across the street from me have a Beagle, but they still have him (im going to ask anyway).
I am such an animal lover, and I hate hearing stuff like this, but i have 2 dogs, and me and Dh rent my inlaw's 2nd house, and they will kill us, (bvecause after we brought the 2nd dog home in may, they flipped),
You really can't keep him? :(

Re: Found a dog
Please don't let them put the beagle down. I love all dogs, but I am especially partial to beagles. That poor dog doesn't deserve that.
Please call Bide-a-wee. I will make a donation to Bide-a-wee if you do.

Re: Found a dog
A beagle! He's what's known as a ticked beagle. He's so adorable. I wish I could take him but we can't have a dog, we're not home very much. Dreamworld, if you do adopt him, beagles are wonderful pets. My family has always had beagles. They have wonderful natures, are loyal, friendly, sweet and smart. Their only drawback is they're total chowhounds. And, hey, so am I! Please, let us know what happens. I could get in contact with Beagle Rescue--most breeds have a 'rescue' organization that watches out for dogs of their breed that end up in shelters, or are unwanted by their owners. They find them good homes. Rescue organizations are also a great place to find a pet of a specific breed if you're looking to adopt, not get a dog from a breeder. And, personally, I think there's a lot to be said for adopting a slightly older dog. You get to know you're giving a home to a dog without one, and giving him or her a real family. My sister just adopted a foxhound puppy (or beagle/foxhound mix) that was found in a shelter in Texas as a two month old puppy, suffering from mange and worms, by a beagle/hound rescue organization. Poor Jilly started out in a bad place, but now she is completly healthy, has a family, two beagle 'brothers,' a huge yard, walks in the park, and lots of love.

I hope he finds his original owners soon, or else someone takes him home!
