After taking a shower I'd exam myself in the mirror being depressed with my weight gain when I'd noticed a lump in the armpit of my breast. I found myself saying 'hum what's that?' It felt like a round hump sometimes annoying and other times hurtful. It's a soft round lump looking very ugly as it looks like a third breast hanging. It hurts upon pressing down, shaving my armpit, putting deodorant, and showering in that area. DH notice it after we were intimate a few times but I don't like to be exam as I know I have flaws so I brushed him off. Both mothers don't know about it. My mother is known to go blabbing endlessly making the problem public knowledge to the whole world as then the whole world can give me a sympathy party. My mother’s maternal family houses a history of cancer as well as Nick’s maternal family. I don’t know what it is but will get it checked out.
Now that I’ve notice it now I’m conscious of it. I'm worried and having trouble sleeping as this year starting out wasn't that great with a job loss and now this. I'm only 29 pushing 30 which I thought that breast cancer for women has a greater risk of ages 40+. Anxiety won't leave my stomach.

Re: Found Lump in Armpit of Breast
I am so sorry to hear this. Please take care of this asap, my boss's wife just went through the whole thing (breast cancer) and it is really tough. Take care of everything as fast as possible and things will work out. Time is the most important thing. Hopefully everything is fine and you will be fine after the surgery. My sister had the same as you a couple of years ago and the biopsy came back negative. You are in my prayers.

Re: Found Lump in Armpit of Breast
I hope it is nothing, definiteley go to the doctor, but I'll tell you one thing my moms doctor once told her, because breast cancer runs in the family, if the lump hurts, it probably is not cancer. My mom has been getting painful lumps under her arms for years and they always turned out to be cysts!! Good Luck, I hope everything is ok!!

Re: Found Lump in Armpit of Breast
Update: I have yet to take care of this. Probably need surgery. Does any brides know a breast specialist whose office hours are evenings and weekends? I've already took 2 lunch hours for dr's appts already and I've only been working here for 2 months. Preferably evenings and weekends office hours in Manhattan, NYC area. I prefer a female doctor and who accepts Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield health insurance. Thanks.

Re: Found Lump in Armpit of Breast
I don't know any breast specialists sweetie....I only know a really great oncologist (Cancer Dr) that saved my fathers life many years ago.
What about calling your insurance co. and asking them for a dr in your area??
Best of Luck!

Re: Found Lump in Armpit of Breast
GO TO THE DOCTOR!! It's probably nothing, but you never know. I had a lump in my breast my doctor found. I went for a sonnogram adn it was a tumor. I went for a biopsy and found out it was benign. I still had it removed. I have the best breast surgeon in the world! Barbara Axelrod!
ETA: Just read the update. I highly recommend Dr. Axelrod! Do a search on her- she is one of the leading specialist in NY. She is with St. Vincents breast center- they have a whole building dedicated to breast cancer and breast health. I highly recommend her!
