Fox Hollow Brides

I went to Fox Hollow and met with David last weekend. I absolutely LOVED the place and at this point will probably book with them. We looked at the Winter Garden room bc I will only have about 120 people. I though this was odd - I am having ceremony on site - I figured a 6pm ceremony, and reception would be 8-12. Dave told me we would do a 8pm ceremony and 930-130 reception. Is it just me or is that really late? All of our family and 'older' guests are going to leave halfway into it! It's a Fri night. Could there possibly be an afternoon wedding and that's why mine would be so late? Anyone else had same thing happen? Or were you able to talk them into an earlier ceremony start time?

Yes, I actually had the same problem too. Not only will my guests be falling asleep but so will I! I asked more than once about time adjustments for the wedding but they said because they do 2 weddings in a day, the times cannot be changed. Only if you opt for the 'Twilight' times on certain days can you change times but I believe they charge more. If you are able to change though, let me know!

That sounds crazy - that means you and your guests won't eat dinner until at least 10PM? that would be a deal breaker for me.

That's crazy. My sister's went to a wedding on Friday night recently, 7:30-12:30 and dinner was served at 10:40 and some people left before the cake and some right after. Not many stood until 12:30.

I agree. It is crazy and defintely a deal breaker. It just sucks bc I havent found another place that is the same price range that I really love. Plus our families live in the Riverhead area, so Woodbury is pretty much the farthest West we were looking to go. I guess I will need to try and see if he is willing to budge with the times, or we will have to keep looking.

Re: Fox Hollow Brides

Are you set on a Friday evening wedding? We're having our wedding there on a Sunday and the times are much more reasonable - 5:30pm cocktail hour and 6:30-10:30pm reception.

I agree with the other girls about it being too late - we went to a wedding last year at the Crest Hollow on a Friday evening, we didn't eat until almost 10:45 and almost everyone left right after that. :(

I am sort of set on the Friday night. Its so bizarre to me that they do that? Especially on a Friday? I could understand that a lot of people have Saturday afternoon weddings, but i wouldnt think it would be such an issue on a Friday, as lots of people have to work. There is no way I would want to have my wedding that late, just for that reason! We are paying for the wedding ourselves so I would be very upset if everyone left halfway through it

Fox Hollow books 2-3 weddings at a time so they are probably trying to work around someone else that already booked before you. I was at my friend's wedding there on a Sunday with an 8pm ceremony. In my opinion, it was way too late since we ate dinner around 10:40.

Same thing happen to us. We tried getting them to move up our cocktail hour to 7pm, but they said that they couldn't. I do believe it is because someone else might be using our room as a chapel. So while we are having cocktail hour, they will be setting up our room for 9pm-1am reception.

We were going to get married there as well, but everything was pushed back and the reception would have been over by 2am!

I'm a FH bride. They wont budge on the time. Each room is on a different time schedule which is why they can have 2-3 weddings going on at one time. It makes sense, but is super annoying at the same time.

we booked the Somerley for a Sunday wedding....ceremony at 4....everything finished by 10pm. i believe the Somerley only does one wedding a day. so maybe it depends on the room you are using?
