hope someone tells us how the wedding showcase was tonight!

The showcase was actually really nice, considering that I only stayed about an hour. If I didn't have most of my vendors in place, I probably would've spent much more time there, though. I figured since I was going there to make our last deposit payment, I'd check out the showcase, since I've never been to one before.

Fox Hollow looked absolutely beautiful!! I LOVE being in that place!!!

The whole atmosphere was elegant from the very beginning, with 2 doormen in tuxes with tails greeting guests and opening doors. Waitstaff passed around trays of hor dourves (I can never spell that word!) and glasses of champagne with strawberries. Mmmm! Got to taste some of the food......mmmm! They did seem to serve a lot of things with shrimp, clams, etc, so I couldn't try those b/c I'm allergic. Made a mental note to ask that it be written into our menu planning that all shellfish be placed on its own trays, away from other foods so those with allergies aren't affected.

Tables lined the perimeters of all the rooms where vendors were exhibiting their work, handing out flyers and information packets, and answering questions. Since I already booked photo, video, and DJ, I didn't spend much time checking out these vendors, although I do love to flip through the sample photo books!! One of the photographers was set up upstairs taking free engagement pics...... but my FH was working late, so I was there alone.

I did, however, spend a lot of time looking through books of invitations at the Perfect Wedding Planner (PWP) table, since they had a ton of sample books there. Jessica from PWP, the one who made our reservations for the showcase, was very helpful in locating specific invitation designs for me. (I've been looking at EVERYTHING so I can find what I like that's elegant and possibly DIY on a tight budget!!) The floral arrangements by the florists were absolutely stunning, and made the room smell like an English garden. I didn't stay for the DJ showcase though, since I was finished cruising the rooms within an hour and the DJ wasn't set to go on for another hour.

I'd definitely recommend going to one of these showcases if you don't have all your vendors yet. Even if the vendors featured are more expensive than others, it gives you an idea of price points for comparison, and you can get a bunch of information without traveling to each vendor individually. You can also taste samples and take a tour of the rooms at Fox Hollow too.

Congratulations to all the Fox Hollow brides who are getting married there this weekend!!!!!!!!

Ladies... I'm a Mrs! Can you believe it??

I just wanted to pop in and say that the Fox Hollow went above and beyond and everything was PERFECT including our cake.

The only thing... is if you get a room at the Inn make sure to ask for a room that is NOT on the first floor... its so bright, and right on the sidewalk... you have like NO privacy at all if you know what i mean.

I want to have candles (votives in glass holders) around the cake on the cake table. Does the FH provide those kinds of candles or do I need to provide them?

I brought my own

where did you buy them? Did they last the whole night or did they have to be replaced?

I bought my own too, from AC Moore when they had sales on them, since I LOVE candles and we're on a tight budget. Got the idea from many LIW brides here. Check out AC Moore online, watch the weekly flyers for sales, print off the 40% off coupons too.

I got the 15-hour votive candles for 5 for $1 or 6 for $1 (can't recall right now), and I waited until they had the votive holders I liked on sale 3 for $1. Be careful to check the bottom of the candle or the label that says how long the burn-time is for that particular candle. I found ones I liked, but they only burn for a max of 2 hours, NOT good for our 4-hour reception! Had to keep looking until I found ones that burned much longer.

If AC Moore doesn't have something in stock that you need a lot of, they'll order it for you at the sale price, but you do have to pay for it upfront that day. I've done it several times without a problem.

Call ERGA and talk to them. They can prob make smaller tiers to give you 4 OR perhaps make one of them a fake. They'll just ice it to look like the rest of the cake but it'll actually be styrofoam or something like it.

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread

Have a question about DIY items. I bought Votives for the cake table and my centerpieces are going to be bud vases with floating candles. When I bring all that stuff down, will the Fox Hollow set everything up for me on the day of the wedding or do I need to have someone to do that for me?

I believe they will set it all up for you. I know GinaZ got married this weekend and they were supposed to be setting up her cp's. Just make sure they know in advance that they will need to do this!

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread

For girls who already got married there, how early do you have access to the Bridal Suite? Our ceremony is at 12:30, and photographer is arriving at 8. Were you able to get into the bridal suite that early, or should I anticipate starting to get ready elsewhere?

TIA
