hmm, i'm getting married in the off season, and I didn't get a comped room

If I remember correctly (old married lady brain prevails) I think it was only for January, February and March brides. However, it doesn't hurt to call and see if they'll comp you a room.

poo! guess i missed it by a couple of days! I also did not get ANYTHING thrown in, lol. Though they tried to make it seem like giving me wine on every table for no charge was not standard, and $500 for the chocolate fountain was a 'special' price.

Banquet managers are sales people. Of course they want you to feel special. You have to bargain to get things thrown in. I wish I had brought my dad to my appointments. I would have gotten a lot more.

From what I understood, you got a comped room in an off season or for a sunday night wedding. We considered moving from April to March and then we would have gotten the room..but we lost it when we decided to stay in april. HTH

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread

I just got some info from the Executive Inn, I was worried about this for no reason so I wanted to share.

I blocked 10 rooms for the night before/night of my wedding at the reduced price. Apparently, you aren't limited to the number you reserve, as long as your guests call by the cut-off (30 days prior to your wedding) and there is still a vacancy. So for example, I have 14 rooms reserved at the discounted price with no problem.

I was worried about getting held to the 10 and people calling and having to pay full price, but I didn't want to block off too many because you have to guarantee 75% to get the discount. Maybe I am dumb and this is common practice but I was happy to learn I don't have to block off more rooms for the 7 or 8 people I know still haven't booked yet!

Hope this helps! Jessica at Executive Inn is really great to work with!

yeah i remember him saying we'll 'throw in' wine on the tables and an ice sculpture...and i'm thinking um i'm sure wine on the tables is standard, and as for the ice sculpture, i could care less about having one

Oh no! you need to try to relax. What are things you have left to do that you can take care of in advanced? Can you go for a mani and pedi with a girlfriend? You've been doing so well this passed year and working so hard to make this day beautiful and it will be!

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread

Hi ladies,
I've been busy at work but I just wanted to drop in and say how wonderful Jess' wedding was. She looked FAB and did not look one bit nervous. They both had an excellent time as did the LIW brides that came. It was really wonderful! I have pics but not with me, I will try to post this week!

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread

I just booked my wedding at the Fox Hollow. I absolutely love the grounds and what they offer in their price, but they are the coldest people to work with. At least I got stuck working with the most insensitive man I have ever met. He was rude, cutting me off to answer his phone, he kept leaving his office to deal with other issues. And everything I wanted extra he said NO to!!! I couldn't believe it. They won't let you do any tastings, they won't let you taste the cake...he kept telling me they don't need to because of their reputable reputation. I wanted to add an extra 1/2 hour to my cocktail hour and he told me only if I rented out the entire hall for the entire day then I could. They refuse to put in the contract if something happens to the place then you get your money back. I literally cried in his office. It was the most awful experience so far with all the planning. It is a shame a bride has to feel that way. I was asked then why am I booking it there, it's hard no to. They offer so much, and I know it will be beautiful, it's just a shame that you have to be treated like that. They don't care because they know if I walk out someone else will walk right in.

WOW I'm so sorry you had such a terrible experience! I did not have this experience at all! It must have been the banquet manager you saw. I was treated very well and was one of the reasons I loved it there. I can't believe you still booked there with that happening, I don't think I would have if the same thing happened to me! But this thread is awesome and you will see everyone has been happy that has gotten married there. Which room are you having your reception in? I'm also getting married in October but 08. Welcome and I hope you have a much better experience with them from now on!
