Fox Hollow or Westbury Manor
Hi guys, just wondering what everyone thinks about Fox Hollow compared to the Westbury Manor. Which garden is lovelier, are the food comparable as both are owned by the SCotto Brothers? Also how many weddings are done at the time at Fox Hollow compared to the WestBury Manor? What I like about the Westbury is that my small party - 100people - would be able to use the garden during our reception. Would we be able to do this at the Fox Hollow?
I know, lotsa of questions but I'm close to booking Westbury and haven't seen Fox Hollow yet. Just wondering if FH is worth a visit. Thanks all!

Re: Fox Hollow or Westbury Manor
We saw both, and definitely liked WM better- the issue for us was that we are having the ceremony at the hall and the area FH has the ceremony requires walking across the parking lot, and its about 5 feet off of Jericho Tpk, so you can hear cars whizzing by.We also didn't really like the setup of the room we would have had the reception in.
However, I really recommend seeing both before you make a decision, because everyone is different.
Also, WM is no longer a 'Scotto Bros.' establishment, they have removed themselves to become their own entitiy. Jerry Scotto runs it, but it is not connected to FH, Chateau Briand, or Watermill.

Re: Fox Hollow or Westbury Manor
Hahha - Lauren, I looked at both too, and I loved FOX HOLLOW more for my small party!
With a small party (under 140), you can have the winter garden pavillion, which is absolutely GORGEOUS.

As far as the gardens, I have no idea - my wedding is late November, and I was told that even though it'll be freezing and dark, I can take all the pics I want in the gardens. I guess that's something you'll have to discuss with them.
I recommend meeting with Arthur - he's young, SO well informed, and very willing to 'give'. Our price was better at F.H. too, and it's closer to our house and most of our guests.
Good luck with whatever you choose!

Re: Fox Hollow or Westbury Manor
The Scotto Bros split up. WM used to be owned by Scotto but isn't anymore.I think they both have lovely gardens but I'm doing Fox Hollow and I couldn't be more pleased. They have two gardens - one is right near jericho tpke, but there's another one (bigger) that you do not hear the cars. i'm getting married in that garden (pending good weather -- please have good thoughts in early August!!!)
A friend of mine just booked WM. He told me that they weren't too negoitable with price, inclusions, etc. Fox Hollow was....but that was just one experience.
Also, I liked the rooms better at the Fox. But both are lovely venues and I'm sure you'll find the right place for you.

Re: Fox Hollow or Westbury Manor
Thanks for the response everyone. I've booked the WM 'cus I love that the reception hall door opens to the patio that overlooks the garden - called appropriately enough, the Garden Room. And there's also a library next door that would be exclusively ours (although I've heard that the larger room may use it as the backup cocktail room if the weather is bad).Hoping for good weather, for you too Robynlevy! :)
Oh, wondering if anyone knows how's the WM officiant. I believe WM provides an officiant for $350 which I may just use if everyone has good opinion of him. :)

We have the manor room (the bigger room) and we have use of the library and conservatory during our cocktail hour regardless of the weather. If it is very hot out we wanted an option for people to get out of the sun and heat. We had that specifically written into our contract though.
As for their officiant, I never met with him. We got our own officiant.
