FOX HOLLOW VS SWAN CLUB!!

Good Morning Ladies,

Thank you so much for helping with my last post. Choosing a space is so hard. So far it was between Larkfield Manor and Swan Club but Larkfield is a little far from where me and my guests will be coming from al though I like it alot. I visited Fox Hollow yesturday and loved the room but wasn't to happy with the outside ceremony space. So now the choice is between the Swan Club and Fox Hollow. The price points are both ok. I can't decide which one. If any of you have looked at both venues or tasted the food of either could you tell me which one you like better and pls include why?

Thanks Guys!

Re: FOX HOLLOW VS SWAN CLUB!!

Fox Hollow, I heard, has a new room that is beautiful.

Swan Club is also nice but I feel it can be like a wedding factory because they have 3 weddings going on at once. I'm not sure what the max is for Fox Hollow of weddings at a time.

If you are looking for an outside ceremony, have you considered Villa Lombardi's or Douglaston Manor?

Re: FOX HOLLOW VS SWAN CLUB!!

The food is great at both places. Swan Club will def give you the better deal. We looked at Swan Club for our March wedding and would be getting married there but didn't like where they held the ceremony at all- without anything blooming it was just gloomy, IMO. For your month you may not have that problem. FH sister got married at Fox Hollow last year but didn't have the ceremony there. Both places can have three weddings going on at a time. Fox Hollows newest room is gorgeous so I'd prob wannna go with them but I loved the service at Swan Club and the way they made you feel. They are very accomodating and really want to do anything possible to have your wedding there.
Hope this helps.

Re: FOX HOLLOW VS SWAN CLUB!!

Just got married Sat at the swan club...just uploaded some pics...and it was amazing! There were a few things I could critique...but overall it was perfect. We had the garden room and did not notice any other event going on...until later in the evening closer to the end of our reception when it came to trying to take more photos outside for the sunset.

Any questions just ask

Re: FOX HOLLOW VS SWAN CLUB!!

Ive never been to Fox Hollow but I am booked at Swan Club for Oct 2013 and I couldnt be happier. Those who Ive worked with so far have been great. Im in love with the grounds.. they are so beautiful. I love the ceremony space.. you're indoors so your safe incase it rains but you still get an outside feel and gorgeous views of the gardens. If your date is in Sept u wont have to worry about the gardens not being in bloom. I booked the Garden room. Love it because you feel like your in your own space, private entrace/exit as well your own bathrms that u wont have to share with any other events. I havent tasted the food yet bcuz they only do tasting during lunch time hours m-f and Im at work. But I havent heard anything bad plus in Jan they will have an expo where u can taste the food and the cake so Ill be looking fwd to that.

Re: FOX HOLLOW VS SWAN CLUB!!

i am looking at fox hollow & larkfield (have 4 more places to go but these are at the top of the list so far).
Larkfield is in my hometown, but there are no hotels nearby!
Fox hollow is a bit far, but my main concern is what i have read re: multiple weddings (areas not as separate as larkfield) and rushing on here.
Thoughts?

Re: FOX HOLLOW VS SWAN CLUB!!

Try Crest Hollow, food is great there and the pool is nice.

What I don't love about Larkfield is the ceiling. I notice things like that.

Have heard great things lately about the Watermill. I used to hear years ago that there food was not good (catering hall bland) but lately people have been raving about the food!

Villa Lombardi's has amazing food with great prices.

Use time to your advantage and visit EVERY PLACE you can!! You don't need to book your hall until Summer of 2012 or even September of 2012!

This is ANYWHERE that has multiple weddings. It's not so much rushing, more like hustling to get everything moving. It's not really a horrible thing.

Re: FOX HOLLOW VS SWAN CLUB!!

The only thing is with those places I needed a guarantee of a 100 and we have a small family and don't think we would be able to guarantee that.

which ceiling? we look at ALL the rugs (haha)

As far as booking... depends on place. some have bookings as far as nov 2013 (not just from what they say, also from on here)

Ok, I understand that. Try Lombardi's on the Bay, they are much smaller. You don't think you'd have 100 guests?

Otherwise, try Snapper Inn- it's on Oakdale on the River.
Also,
MeadowEdge is at West Sayville Country Club....it's an old mansion that has been restored. This was our main contender when deciding. I liked it alot and the price was amazing, it was just too small.
