Fox Hollow - Winter Garden vs. Garden Terrace?

I need help! My fiancé and I booked Fox Hollow Winter Garden room on a Saturday night. The cocktail hour would start at 8 pm and the reception would end at 2 am because we added the viennese hour. Since it's a Saturday, we have to get married at the church at 2:30 pm because they have confession at 4 pm and mass at 5pm. My fiancé feels the break in between and the late ending is a problem, so he wants to switch to the Garden Terrace room which has a start time of 6:30 pm.

The problem is I fell in love with the Winter Garden room, which has more of a romantic, airy feeling. The Garden Terrace is more of a ballroom feel. We can't seem to figure out what to do and I thought I might get some insight from posting here. Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.

Fox Hollow - Winter Garden vs. Garden Terrace?

We're booked in the Garden Terrace room. We wanted that ballroom feel so it really depends on your style. I agree that is a big gap in time though. The other thing to think about is the garden terrace room has a higher minimum. We didn't even have the option of the winter garden because it was too small for us with a guest list of 150-175. Our minimum is 175 for a Friday night, but it may be even higher on a Saturday. Definitely give them a call and find out the particulars.

Then you just have to decide which is more important to you.. timing or the ambiance you want. It's so strange that the two rooms are so different, it's almost like two completely different venues lol

:))))

Also I'm in the Winter Garden for a Saturday night with the same hours. We're doing church at 6pm but had to compromise on photos because of Daylight during that time of year, so it's probably going to be a matter of where you can take the hit. I know on Long Island many many people are catholic and would understand the big gap, but you might not have a great turnout at the church as a result.

Are you doing a hotel block? That way people from out of town would have someplace to go for the gap, I would just stress that there will be lots of food at ch, and not to eat!
