FREAKIN FLU

i am feeling a bit better, my fever went down so thats good but FH who has it since wednesday got even worse this morning ...he woke up to tell me he was burning up and he was on fire, he had 102 fever and he is so sick. HE already threw up twice. Once i woke up i put towels in cold water and put them on him, and gave him tylenol to bring his fever down. I remember this is what they do in a hospital when you have a fever. When my cousin was a kid she had a high fever and even passed out when she was about 3, my mom had to take her to the hospital and all they did was take a sheet and put it in ice cold water and wrapped her in it and gave her tylenol. When my dad had pneumonia and had 109 fever which is insane, before they even treated him they took care of the fever by putting ice packs all over his body. I remembered this and doing it to FH, i know he probably wants to kill me bc he said he is cold. I even looked up info online to show him lol so he doesnt think im crazy, but they said DO NOT bundle up, if you have a fever you need to bring down your temperature and staying bundled up you are keeping it elevated, so i took his blankets off too. I checked his temperature again an hour later and it went down to 99.8 so it helped.

If he still has a fever later, i know he'll kill me but i am going to wrap his whole body in a sheet i put in ice cold water. I feel so bad

everybody seems to have this now. Of course today is a fantasy baseball draft, and since he is so sick i am going to sit on the computer in my room while he lays down and help him do his draft lol, he'll tell me what to do. I hate these drafts now im stuck doing it lol.

I know alot of other people are sick so hope you are all well and taking care of yourself. If you have a high fever, drink cold liquids

Both of you feel better! Iam sick too, and on top of it I lost my friggen voice. I sound like Marge Simpson! LOL. I hate feeling like this!

yeah im just glad i dont have a fever anymore and the horrible body aches. Dont feel great but cant complain right now compared to how i was feeling. I ran to CVS earlier this morning, running around to keep changing fh's cold towels every 15 minutes and getting him stuff. Compared to how he is, i cant complain

oh now that really REAALLY *****.. i got that stupid flur shot and was sick all thanksgiving recovering.. now it ain't eve gonna protect me from the freakign flu??

I feel so sorry for you both! I had the SAME thing two weeks ago and ended up missing a whole week of work! I didn't go to the Dr. till the 4th day, and there wasnt anything they could do for the flu, but I ended up having a throat infection too, so they gave me antibiotics. I would put like every blanket we had on me and my hands were still like ice!

Uggh I know, and I even got the flu shot too, I have to every year since I'm in the health field, but there's actually another strain out there that they didn't get in the shot this year which is why the flu rates are so high. Probably why I still got it... blah...
