FREAKING OUT OVER WHERE WE ARE GONNA LIVE

I freak out on daily basis over this. the market is so great right now, but we have absolutely no money for a down payment and we need the time until and a bit after the wedding to save for that.
I get ill just thinking about the money, now on top of that FH been explaining the differences between co-ops, condo, houses and others and I am at a total lost! I start hyperventilating just thinking about making such a decision and feel as if we never gonna get our apt
we are planning to do it after the wedding, hopefully withing 4-6 months. we plan on using the money we will get from the wedding and some other funds and I pray that will be enough

Everyone tells us to buy a house now. I look at them like they're insane! With the wedding there is absolutely no money for a down payment. It was either a house or a wedding. If we had help paying for the wedding I'm sure it would've been a different story. The way I see it is there are A LOT of additional expenses that come with buying a house. Things just start breaking or need to be fixed. I need to be financially prepared for that stuff. So we plan on moving out into a complex right before the wedding. Unfortunately that too is still a lot of $$. Just to move out they want 2 months security with the first months rent. That means coming up with almost $6,000 just to move out. Ugh!!

I know what u mean, some ppl said to me that they prefer if I didnt have the wedding and just bought a place, as if its their choice. interesting when their own were getting married that didnt came up

sd much as a I freak out, I know that in the end this all will turn out well. just need to be smart, save where possible and not rush into any decisions, doing lots of research ahead

House hunting is time consuming, discourging and above, one of those things that puts a relationship to a test I noticed. I trust FH and I know he knows what he is doing, and we will have our happy home soon enough. I hope.

People tell me to just have a small wedding and buy a house. With the size of my FH's family that was impossible. Plus, as much as we all want to save, I'm sure most of us still want our dream wedding
And you're absolutely right, in the end it will all work out. If you buy now when the market is great, but you're not ready then it could be really bad. It will all work out the way it's meant to. I really believe that!

OMG same situation and I feel the same way. We've been casually looking for good deals on houses in Suffolk though... We will see.

I am too!!! fh keeps changing the budget on me! and one day he'll be like you need to chill with the spending, and the next day hes like whatever you want babe lol talk about bi-polar!

at the moment, FI & i have been joking around that after we get married.... we'll be WEEKEND LOVERS! we'll only get to see each other on weekends! waah.
