so i never knew how to convert images from BMP or GIF to JPEG and i don't have software for it, so there are so many times when i see cute/funny things i want to post and can't. i feel so computer illiterate sometimes.
ANYWAY, so i decided to search and found this free converter that will convert them for you, no downloading neccessary...
so for any of you who ever need to, add this to your favorites and use it to change files from whatever they are to whichever format you need them to be:
the only bad thing is b/c it's free you might have to shrink the image way down...but at least you can do it for free!!

you actually dont need a converter...what i do is just open it up in paint, then just go to save as, click on the scroll down menu where it will say 'bmp' and just change it to jpg and thats it

really? when i go into paint, open a bmp and click save as, it doesn't give me the option to save as a jpeg. do you think i have an old version??

i always do that, and even did it last time this happened to me when i tried to post a bmp file. Not sure if its bc its an old version

Yeah i just tried paint at my job and same thing, you get all the options when you hit the scroll down menu

ok what happens when you hit the 'save as type' scroll menu, does just the bmp stay there and underneath it will open the scroll but stay just all white?

it gives me 5 options that end in: (*.bmp,*.dib) and one that ends in .gif
i don't know what it all means!!

thats just the extension file name...just like JPG it will say *JPG* JPEG*
you should have about 4 bmp's, it will be monochrome, 16 bit, 56 bit and 256 bit, then it should say JPG right after
