I was wondering if I could get some feedback on which day you guys think is better if we end up not being able to afford a Sat. Night. My Finance thinks Fri. and I was leaning to Sunday. Thanks!

Re: Friday Night Vs. Sat.Night
My RH is about $15 cheaper on a Friday then Saturday. We ended up on booking it for Saturday. If you go to a Sunday I think it might be a little cheaper depending on the hall!

Re: Friday Night Vs. Sat.Night
I prefer Friday night over Sunday night, but a Sunday DAY wedding and a Friday night would be about the same to me as a guest.
I picked a Friday night for several reasons, one being that it gives FH and I a few extra days off b/c we get the extra weekend...so we didn't have to worry about flying out right away and have some time to just be at home and just... 'BE'
I don't really care for Sunday night weddings unless they are the day before a holiday or if I'm really close to the bride and groom b/c I always seem to be freaking out about the time, and work in the morning.

I would prefer a Sunday (and I think these days it may be cheaper than a Friday)! It is just easier for me b/c I don't have to work on Sundays (and I work very late during the week).

Re: Friday Night Vs. Sat.Night
i think it depends what kind of wedding you want....
we want a wild crazy party wedding so we went with a friday night - we are getting married at the RH at 6:00pm - we know that not everyone will be able to attend the ceremony but that is FINE with us, we rather it just be our bridal party, parents and close family anyway.....we extended our CH until 8pm so that guests arriving after work won't miss all of it and our reception starts at 8:00pm....
i personally do not like attending any type of a party on a sunday - that doesnt mean i dont enjoy myself once im there - its just it means i either have to take off work the next day OR i cant drink and i leave early.....i didnt want people leaving super early or not partying/drinking because they have monday morning on their mind....we also wanted to continue the party at a hotel afterwards -our RH is not close to our home so lots of our family will be staying over - we couldnt expect them to come or stay over on a sunday.....
i happen to like friday nights because its the start of the weekend and people are typically in a good mood (at least i am!) and the whole weekend isnt ruined for the people who are attending - they still have their entire weekend to enjoy which is nice....
if i wanted an afternoon wedding or a packed ceremony then i might have went with a sunday but for our needs and wants a friday worked out almost better than a saturday would have anyway.....

I got a great deal on a Saturday day wedding which are usually 1p-6p, but a Sunday brunch would be soo cute 2! Good luck!

i would prefer a friday night over a sunday because you have the whole weekend to recover, unless it is a holiday monday. but that being said you also have to consider if you have guests that you know go away for the holiday weekend, will they come to the wedding or will they go on their trip... if you having a friday night just do it a little later start time to give people time to leave work and go home to get ready

I prefer Friday that way you have the whole weekend to rest if you need and then go on your honeymoon, and still be able to see the family before you go, also people won't have to work the next day so they can sleep in too!

Me too, our wedding is on a sunday, they wanted $6000 more for a saturday night wedding. I hate doing things friday night after I've worked all week.

My prefereence would be a Friday night, people don't have to get up as early the next day. But may leave after cake if they had to work all day. 6 of 1, half dozen of the other. Would it be a sunday night or afternoon?

I am getting married on a Friday night at Russo's on the bay and i think it works out to be better for alot reasons is that we have some time before our honeymoon we are leaving on sunday so we have time to perpare and relax. Friday are great and cheaper

Re: Friday Night Vs. Sat.Night
We went with Sunday because people still have to go to work on Friday and then rush around to get to the hall and if they take off the Friday they could just as well take off the Monday.

Re: Friday Night Vs. Sat.Night
friday-if i am close to the person i'll take the day off and its good bc i have the whole weekend to recover. And Friday is the beginning of the weekend so i am in party mode.
Sunday-i am usually lazy lol, when i'll get to the wedding i'll be better though. It seems that most sunday night weddings i go to, it ends late and many times it will be further out in LI so have to drive home late and the next day at work i am out of it. But ive still had fun
its easier for me to take off on a friday than a monday because its easier to say that i have to take off for a wedding i am attending THAT day, i can say that i have to get to the church and won't be time after work or i can leave early and would be fine since friday weddings start late. To take off the day after a wedding cant really do bc doesnt sound as good to say well i went to a wedding yesterday and im just tired to come in.
