Which do you think is a better day for a wedding if you can't afford the Saturday? Especially if you have people coming from PA and NJ to either Queens or LI (haven't decided on my place yet!)

We picked a Sunday night that the next day was a holiday. We can't afford a Sat. night and the price was so much cheaper for a Sunday. best of both worlds!

I'd go for the Sunday, giving folks Sat. to travel.
I'm a Sunday (evening) bride & didn't want peeps to miss the ceremony cuz they had to work. So far nobody has a problem taking that Monday off. In fact, most are using it as an excuse to NOT go to work the next day!![]()
My MOH had a Friday wedding & lotsa peeps didn't show (altho they rsvp-ed) cuz they were tired after work, or whateva. Not saying that will happen to anyone but that was a factor in my decision.

we are invited to a friday wedding in a few weeks & we have to travel about 1 1/2 hours to get there (jersey shore). we are definitely not going to the ceremony because i can't leave school early. i could only leave work early if it were a relative or my best friend getting married, otherwise, forget it.
so... sunday gets my vote.

Sunday for me. We did a Sunday 'twilight' (3-9). it was perfect. those who wanted to took the Monday off and partied after the wedding, the others drove/flew back after to make it to work the next day. plus, some people didn't even get a hotel, they just drove in that afternoon and drove back through the night (cheapos - just teasing! LOL) ![]()
but Sunday was perfect.

my vote would be Sunday. But that is really only because my FI works late most nights and would have a rough time getting to an out of town wedding. But I look at them both the same. If you want a night time affair you run the risk of people being late on Friday or possibly leaving early on Sunday.

FRIDAY...FRIDAY...FRIDAY...!! Then people don't have to worry about going to work the next day. They can just enjoy the night w/ out worries!

My FI's family is from NJ and we are having a Sunday afternoon. It will be over by 6:00 so people can drive home afterwards.

Thanks girls. But would you still have a Fri if you are having it in Sept and have kids in your bridal party and cheap people who won't pay to stay over a night at a hotel?
