So we need to pick either Friday night or Sunday night and I don't know what to do!!
Friday-people will come late because of work.
Sunday-people may leave early because they have work in the morning.
So confused and everyone has an opinion !!!!!!(Little vent right there lol)
Please if you had a friday or sunday night wedding and can give me any advice I would be so gratefu!l

Clearly they both have pros and cons so it depends on what is more important to you. Personally, I would never want my wedding on a Friday and that is only because I hate getting invited to Friday weddings (I would still go though). It takes me a long time to prepare for a wedding (getting my hair done, makeup, etc...) and I am always late or rushing if I had to go to work that day. That's the first reason,second, it would be easier on my OOT guests because they would have to take 2 days off instead of one. Third, and most important to me, I really want people to attend my ceremony, I think its much easier to miss it on a friday. I do worry about people leaving early on sunday, but when people are enjoying themselves they will be less likely to be looking at their watches! Whatever you choose it will be perfect for you so don't worry! Good luck!

I would just not be in the mood to party on a Sunday night. Sundays are usually my quiet tv time. LOL!
Friday night you have the whole weekend to look forward to!

Either way, I don't think people would mind so much. It depends more on what you envision. On Friday, the ceremony may be very hard for people to make, but they will be in a position to party at night. On Sunday, more people will be at the ceremony but it is harder to get into a party mood on a Sunday, esp. if there's a lot of windows to the RH and it's obvious it's daytime outside. My preference is for a Friday, but I think either will work out fine.

I'm getting married on a Sunday afternoon. Personally I wouldn't do it on a Sunday evening. In this case, I voted for Friday!

Seriously love you ladies.. I was pretty sure I wanted Sunday but now I think i'm leaning towards Friday. My biggest fear is people will leave early or not have fun because they have to worry about work the next day. Ahh soooo stressful!

I love that I'm having a Sunday wedding but I'm also doing a twilight so people are still free to go to work next day and we have a whole weekend to have pre-wedding activities.
've been to two Sunday twilight weddings and I've had just as much fun as a Saturday evening!

Hugs! It all comes down to You know your crowd. If you have more of a party crowd, they will love a Friday night more, IMO. People are going to have pleeeeeennnnty of notice to get out of work early. I don't know if you're having a church ceremony, but a LOT of people don't make it to the church even when it's on a Saturday or Sunday! So go with your gut, it really means something. I'm SO glad I followed my gut and went with a Friday night wedding and not a Sunday day wedding, which would have saved money, but I know it would have been too big of a personal compromise/sacrifice of what my dream was, kwim? Good luck in your decision! FM if you want!

I would pick Friday, but I personally am getting married on a Sunday because I am Jewish and cannot get married on the Sabbath from Friday at Sunset to Saturday at Sunset. My venue was way to expensive for a Saturday night wedding in the summer, and I REALLY wanted to get married there, so thats what I went with.

We're having a Friday wedding - we were in the same dilemma as you are now.
But our main reason for having it on Friday was that was our anniversary so we stuck to our guns. Don't listen to what others say, do what you want to do. As people has told me - they will come no matter what day it is, if it's important to them, they will come ;)

A lot of our families work on Saturday's as well, so we opted for the Sunday. Besides, our CH starts at 6 and the reception starts at 7. I don't know about most of our guests, but we usually go to bed at 10:30 - 11:00 on a Sunday anyway, which won't be much different because of the wedding?
Our VH will start at 10 and last an hour. People can leave after, like 10:15 - 10:30 and be home normal time, IMO!
Friday wedding I would be afraid nobody would show to the church and be late to the CH.

I would prefer attending a Friday wedding because I know I can sleep in the next day. I wouldn't want to have to wake up early the next day to go to work...I would probably stay away from drinking if I attended a Sunday wedding because I would have to wake up early the next day.

I say Friday--- unless you can pick a date that Monday is a holiday... we did that with ours (We are having it the Sunday of Labor Day weekend)

Were doing a friday night ch starts @ 7PM & VH starts @ 12AM so people who work on friday have plenty of time to get ready for a CH and who doesnt like to party on a friday night and can sleep late sat
