hi grls! how does everyone feel about friday weddings?? ours is on a friday, so i wanted to see what everybodys thoughts were... church begins at 530 and CH begins at 7:30. is it really that odd or an inconvience to have a friday wedding?? even if it is..... i cant change it now lol, plus we saved a good chunk of change!

I don't think it's an inconvience at all. Actually, I wish I could have had mine on a Friday to save some $...but, we have too many OOT guests who might not have been able to make it bc of work. Also - I think your times are perfect for a Friday wedding!

we are having a Friday night wedding.
I originally was against it but we are getting married at the RH and on a Sat. bc they do a day and evening wedding...the evening wedding wouldn't start till late (would be earlier if ceremony was at church). Bc of this we chose Friday so we can start a little earlier.
I am fine with our decision...the ppl that matter most will be there no matter what day/time it is.

Not odd at all...I prefer a Friday wedding over a Sunday wedding. We are getting married on a Friday, ceremony starts at 6:30 then CH at 7:00.

It's not weird. I'm having a Friday night wedding. Church is at 3 cocktail is at 7.

It is not odd, so many people do that nowadays. Some people do find it inconvenient though, because they have to leave work early to get ready for the wedding. I always hear people saying that whenever a Friday wedding rolls around.

Mine is Friday also... i dont think it's an inconvenience at all... I'd rather give my guests the rest of the weekend to recover and for me to be able to hang out with my OOT guests!
Church is 4 - CH is 6:30

our wedding is on a Friday too. i couldn't justify paying that much more for a Saturday to just end up with the same exact thing. our church is at 2:30 & CH starts at 7.
to ensure that we wouldn't have too many no's because its a Friday we sent out our STD a year in advance, instead of the usual 9 months before. most family & friends have already told us that they put in for our wedding day off at work. we don't expect everyone to do that but we do appreciate the gesture.
i am sure that who ever wants to be at Church will be there no matter what. FH is an only child so his family is very excited. in my family my brother got married 8 years ago & my cousin got married 4 years ago & everyone is equally as excited.
the biggest complaint came from my niece when we told her she has to miss a day of school because of the wedding. silly 5 year old.

my best friend from college is getting married tomorrow night at the royalton. The only issue I have is I would have to take off from work for the church and I can't afford to because of school I already took off the time I had to take... so we will have to miss the chruch which is at 3:30. We will def be at the recetion which starts at 7pm... i have no probs with it, except when people get upset that you can't take the day off to come to the chruch
plus her chruch is in flushing and the royalton is in roslyn.... so it just wasn't happening.

Our wedding is on a friday( would have liked sat) I dont think it would bother people, chruch is at 4, C/h 8, its a 45 min drive from chruch to rh and anyone staying overnight can check in to the hotel and get settle in! I have the gap because I need to take pictures!

It's so common nowadays. I actually just went to a wedding for a good friend last Friday. It gave me a reason to take off of work!

I am having a Friday night wedding. my Church is at 5:00 and CH starts at 8:30. I am sure not everyone will be able to make the church but I am glad the CH is a little later for those who can't get out of work or don't live to close. This way they won't miss it.
I like Friday's actually bc then there is a whole weekend for people to visit with OOTers and recoop before Monday.

I don't think a Friday wedding is weird at all.....whether you have it on a Monday, Wednesday, Friday or Sunday, people who matter will be there regardless to help you celebrate......the hours you picked worked out well also!

I actually prefer a friday night wedding gives me a good reason to ditch work, and what a way to end a work week! Its an extended happy hour...
My wedding is a friday night for this reason. I know most of my guest are ok with it, and the best part is they have 2 days to recoup (you should have seen them at my e-party....you know your guest can party when people go home to pass at at 7pm on a Saturday...).
My ceremony is at 6:30pm ( we may bump it to 7 so I will see.) with an invite for 6... cocktail starts at 7pm.

My wedding is on a fri as well. ITA agree with everyone, it give ppl and excuse to take off from work :))

Friday is just fine. I would have done mine Friday (and saved a whole lot of money ), but many people in my FH's family work on Saturdays (including my FFIL. He's crazy. He will most likely work the day of our wedding )
