I just went to one and it was great. they started the coctail hour at 7 so that poeple could go home after work. Everyone was up and dancing all night so if people were tierd from work it did't show. Plus if you did a holiday weekend some poeple might even take off that friday anyway.
This is what we're hoping for! Cocktail hour from 7-8pm, reception from 8pm-1am...we added 1hr of OT in case people want to party! It's Memorial Day Weekend so we're hoping for a good turnout.

I think the only downfall to a friday is people not being able to make it to your ceremony and maybe being a little tired at the reception.

If friday is better for you, then go for it. Those who are important will be there. Sundays are good too. Before we decided on a wedding time, I inquired if anyone would care about having an early evening wedding when everyone had work the following day, and no one minded. Actually some are staying the night anyway. Go with what makes you happy!

Well, I figure that it'll be like an extended 'happy hour'. People usually look forward to a nice meal and a few drinks after a long week at work.

We had our wedding on Good Friday, and it was perfect. Our ceremony was at 6:30 and everyone made it on time...people stayed until midnight. It was great! We saved a lot by having a Friday in April.
