Fried Mac & Cheese - and other assorted foods

So I don't know where they're serving it, but it's a new appetizer - somewhere.

Is a food improved greatly by frying it - like mac & cheese, ravioli, oreos, mars bars? (you get the idea)

Is fatty goodness not enough on its own or does coating it and frying it make it that much better?

For the record, DH drooled over the idea fried mac & cheese (and still gushes about fried twinkies and snickers bars).

i think fridays...i almost gagged when i saw the commercial!

now those potato skin dippers...those looked good....

I definitely reach a 'fat saturation' point. I just can't bring myself to eat a fried candy bar or oreo...I can only eat healthy things that are turned bad by frying...I can't eat a bad thing turned infinitely worse b/c of them...

I don't consider a fried ravioli bad, since I think ravioli's are healthy on their own. Mac & cheese on the other hand... though it probably tastes amazing. I just feel my arteries seizing LOL

I'll try anything once. I never really think about how something is cooked, just as long as its tasty!!

I saw this new appetizer at Friday's and thought it looked disguting - but then I thought to myself, I wonder if I should try it Decided not too and probably walked out the door 5 lbs lighter than if I had tried it

That sounds DISGUSTING. Mac & Cheese grosses me out, so fried mac & cheese would just about do me in. I am IO to frying delicious food - like Twinkies. That is just wrong! The Twinkie is perfect just the way it is.

EXACTLY!

I feel bad enough eating some of that stuff as it is. Frying it makes it gross, and would just pile on the guilt.

There's definitely a limit to how much fat and fried things I can eat. I must admit, I love mac & cheese (but hardly ever eat it) and the thought of fried Mac & cheese doesn't sound good. What makes me want to eat it is the way it looks on tv.

As for fried twinkies, etc. I don't think my stomach could handle that!

I didn't even see the fried mac and cheese on the commercial, but I did see the fried green beans, and DH made a comment about them. They probably taste great though.
There is something about cooking something in fat and oil that makes it taste great.

Ya, those green beans look good, and so do the Pina Colada wings! MMmmm

As for the mac and cheese, it doesn't sound too bad. If any of you try it, let us know!

I'll try to attach a picture for those of you who haven't seen the commercial.

I had the fried mac and cheese at cheescake factory and fridays (i'm a mac and cheese whore) and they were actually great and the cheesecake factory was better.

The green bean fries at fridays are also really good and don't taste like green beans.
