friends can suck

so I just want to vent a moment, one of my closest friends (also a member of the bp) is one of those girls who has wanted to get married from her first boyfriend, practically already planned it out (I was sooo not like that) thinks everything about weddings, and rings is amazingg, except ofcourse for when I got engaged she barely said congrats/asked to see the ring....

so the other night we were watching a movie in which a guy proposed and they showed the ring to which she replies 'and thats an amazingg ring too!' I'm just like have you even seen mine?? my ring was literally the same exact thing except with double the diamonds... shes always throwing out little remarks like that about other weddings or things she sees on tv and I'm just like if you asked about my wedding you'd realize I have the same ****! It just makes me so mad that shes sooo in love with rings and weddings but she hasn't even taken the time to look at/ask about mine!!

She's just jealous. Your ring is one of the prettiest rings I have seen. Don't let her bother you.

JEALOUS! Been there, done that! I actually had 2 of my 'closest friends' in the BP and now are not only not in the BP, but aren't even invited to the wedding.

One of the brides on here whom is already married had given a tip...wait to pick your BP bc it changes. AMEN!

Don't take it too personally. When it comes to getting married, women are SO selfish sometimes they don't even know it.

Your friend is so self absorbed in wanting to get married herself, she can't possibly be happy for you because she's JEALOUS.

Personally, I'd be happy it's just a friend.

Try out our situation for example:

FH and I been dating 2 years. We're 26.
I am practically part of his family by now. We live together, get along amazingly well, AND our parents have become friends! It's ideal...... until we get to his BROTHER and his BROTHER's GIRLFRIEND. (He's 28 and she's 27)

Apparently, we planned our wedding at an 'inconvenient' time for them. (One week BEFORE the Hampton Classic... they're horse people.)

They barely uttered 'congrats,' NEVER asked to see the ring, and STILL HAVE NOT RSVP'ed to our wedding!!!! (The rsvp date WAS the 18th!!) I got a text from his brother 2 days ago saying (AND I QUOTE):
'We will be there in some capacity. Do you really need the card? Not sure where it is.'

UNREAL!! They won't respond to phone calls or texts. And the girlfriend tells everyone she can't believe we planned our wedding the week before Hampton Classic. (The nerve of us, right?!)

These JEALOUS friends and family members of the brides need to get off their high horses (no pun intended! but funny) and GET OVER THEMSELVES. It only makes them look bad and cause others to see them in a negative light.

So, don't worry about your friend. She'll come around....and if she doesn't, there are MANY more friends out there! (Seriously, look at all the posts you've gotten!)

Lastly, I'd like to say CONGRATULATIONS! I checked out your ring on your pics... it's HUGE & GORGEOUS!! Take good care of it (get it insured if you haven't already) and try not to let the negativity get to you. Best of luck!!

She's jealous...and you don't have time to worry about people who clearly aren't worried about you!!!! Try to focus on the positive aspect of planning your wedding and let her get over it!!

First off, your ring is stunning!! I think all of the girls nailed it when they said JEALOUSY. I don't think anyone could ever escape at least one or two of that type of people in their life. Roll it off your shoulder lady. You have an amazing wedding to plan.

I know how you feel. Sucks because you want your 'closest' friends to share in your excitement somewhat!
