A friend of mine from college is getting married in November in Washington DC. Unfortunately, I can't make it to the wedding, so I decided to check out her registry to send her a nice gift instead of just sending a check. Anyway, I went to her wedding channel website to check out her registry, and the only place she is registered at is Tiffany's! She has a set of silverware on there where EACH PIECE is $90! Yup, thats $90 for one frickin butter knife! Then she registers for not one, but TWO sets of 20 piece china! For like $200 per plate! First of all, who needs 40 pieces of china?!? Do you really have that many people over at one time? Obviously I can't afford much off of there on my grad student stipend. FH was joking and said we should just buy her one butterknife and fed ex it to her I just think its so crazy to only register at a really expensive place for REALLY expensive stuff. Is it just me, or is that weird??

Sometimes not all the registeries show up on there. I know some people that registed at stores and it wasn't on there. Also try searching on the knot. some other places might show up that she registered at.
This is so true, Just go to other common store registries. Some of these places don't let you put on there you're registered at BB&B so I always just go to the website and type in the persons name.

Maybe there is a chance she is registered at Bed Bath & Beyond also? That store doesn't come up on wedding channel.com

Send a gift card for the amount YOU want to spend. That is crazy.

WOW, i would never do that to people. She should of at least made a separate registry at a normal store like Bed bath and beyond or target or macys.

Re: friend's crazy registry!
One of my sorority sisters got married while we were in college (weird I know) and she had a registry like that. A bunch of us had to go in on a set of 4 wine glasses and like one other thing because each wine glass was about $60 and that was the cheapest thing on there. It was insane especially for us broke college friends!

Re: friend's crazy registry!
Thanks for the advice girls. I was just so floored when I saw that. I will have to check other places to make sure she doesn't have any registries that I don't know about. I would feel horrible if she did and I was talking all this trash But I still think its crazy to register for a silverware and dishes that expensive. Oh well, to each their own!

Re: friend's crazy registry!
wow i was scared to put a $200 vacuum and a $200 knife set on the registry. everything else is like under $100 on ours! i am sorry but if i saw that registry i would just send a check or pick something similar from BBB and mail it JMO

Re: friend's crazy registry!
wow that is nuts...
When I started to do my registry I started to choose items from $10-$500 (yes there is one $500 item there..lol) so that people have a variety of things to choose from.

Re: friend's crazy registry!
My friend did something like that too....but it was more for herself. She doesn't expect any of us to buy her that stuff. She just wanted to register for it so that she can get that post wedding discount on it.
