friend's crazy registry!

Original post by Chanwich

A friend of mine from college is getting married in November in Washington DC. Unfortunately, I can't make it to the wedding, so I decided to check out her registry to send her a nice gift instead of just sending a check. Anyway, I went to her wedding channel website to check out her registry, and the only place she is registered at is Tiffany's! She has a set of silverware on there where EACH PIECE is $90! Yup, thats $90 for one frickin butter knife! Then she registers for not one, but TWO sets of 20 piece china! For like $200 per plate! First of all, who needs 40 pieces of china?!? Do you really have that many people over at one time?
Obviously I can't afford much off of there on my grad student stipend. FH was joking and said we should just buy her one butterknife and fed ex it to her

I just think its so crazy to only register at a really expensive place for REALLY expensive stuff. Is it just me, or is that weird??

Pick her up some ugly dishtowels with scary roosters on them from the dollar store and call it a day! Teach that girl a lesson!

i knew a girl who registered for the most insane things - Bloomies & Tiffany's only.....and then she had the NERVE to call her fiance's family CHEAP because they did not buy her gifts off of her registry

unfortunately for you, someone that registered for this much at tiffany's probably isn't registered anywhere like macy's, bbb, etc....i've had to purchase (for my boss!) many items off of these kind of high-end registries and it's usually bergdorf goodman, tiffany's, and michael c. fina (all of which you can check online)...i would also check bloomingdales which some people consider their 'lower end' of the spectrum for household items....i've seen some crazy ones like $750 for one vase! i bought a friend a pair of tiffany votive holders for $80 total so that is something you could consider too...
