I remember last year around this time the 05'ers dropped a line to all of us 06'ers with advice, tips and love....I found it very touching and very helpful so....I thought I'd start something similiar for you 07 girls.
You're approaching the best year of your life thus far, so hang on to every second of it. It will fly by before you know it. I can't believe my counter says I've been married 135 days...it feels like just yesterday it was a count DOWN. (sigh.) My advice to you:
Take it all in -- I remember gasping when I saw my chuppah being set up. It was as beautiful as I could've wished for.
Stay with your hubby as much as you can -- people will pull you apart left and right. And despite my own attempts, I was still separated more than I would've liked.
Don't sweat the small stuff -- chances are, something will go wrong. But, I assure you, it will be so minor that nobody will notice.
I can't stress enough how much of a blur the day will be. I remember reading others post that and I thought 'yeah, right.'
Get a video! You won't regret it....it's worth every penny.
Here's to a great year for all of you...us 06 girls are here if you need us!

Wow that is soo awesome...
Thanks for the kind words and advice. I must tell you that this was extremely inspiring. I had a very very diffcult day today with my FSIL's and FH - and now after reading all of your advice - I want to thank you all for everything -when all of you were telling us not to sweat the small stuff this is what brought me back to the right place.....
Great Book for us 07ers to read is 'Don't Sweat the Small Stuff' By Richard Carlson in addition to 'Don't Sweat the Small Stuff in Love'By Richard Carlson....These books have really brought be back to reality!!!

Re: From the 06'ers to the 07'ers
Although this is your wedding day, decisions you make now with regard to how you deal with your In-laws will impact your relationship long after the day is over. Your wedding day may be about you and your husband but it's also about the joining of two families. Have them be apart of the planning if it's possible.
In addition, make your wedding day whatever you want it to be and it should be a reflection on you both. I can actually look back on my day and say that I have not one regret about any decision I made or how many pennies we spent. It was truly a reflection on us and our personalities. I had no doubt in my mind that I would be rolling around on the dance floor in my wedding dress on that day. Neither did any one else. You could dress me up in silk, but you couldn't take the psychosis out of me. I have wedding proofs to prove it!! It makes me happy to look at the proofs knowing that the wedding was a true reflection of us.
Take some time during the wedding planning process for you and your hubby to be. A time without wedding talk and flower arrangements. Try not to let the process consume you.
Good luck to you all and may you all live happily ever after!!!

Re: From the 06'ers to the 07'ers
One more thing...try to be with your husband as much as possible during the day. Try not to get too caught up in saying 'long' hellos to everyone. The best advice someone told me, is try to say hi to everyone during the reception when the courses are being served. It's a really easy way to excuse yourself from being tied down to a lot of conversation. 'Well, thanks again for coming. We'll let you go before you food gets cold.' Worked like a charm!! We said hi to all and danced the night away too!!!

Re: From the 06'ers to the 07'ers
My advice is always different than other brides.
I say, SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF.... meaning, do the little things that make your wedding stand out.
Get the vendors you want and don't settle for less.
And most importantly, do what I did... eat three lobster tails, eat tons of chocolate fountain, dance your AZZ off and kiss your DH one hundred million times.
And then, when it is all over and you are an old married lady... enjoy the memory and cuddle with your man ....
Thank you for your great advice and words of wisdom!

Re: From the 06'ers to the 07'ers
Here are my two cents:
This was mentioned already, but it bears repeating. You will be separated from you DH at the CH and reception as people grab you to talk and take pictures. FIND EACH OTHER. Try to experience as much of the day as you can together.
Dance together - something other than the first dance.
Sit down to dinner together.
Look around at all of your guests and take it all in.
Don't let the small screw ups ruin your day. Accept the fact, RIGHT NOW, that they will happen.
I received some great pictures via e-mail from my friends and family - consider leaving a little note at each table with your e-mail address asking guests to e-mail you any nice pictures that they take (I'm sure some creative gal can come up with a cute little rhyme for the occasion). It's cheaper than table cameras, and you will love looking at all the great candid and silly shots that your guests take.
