Frustrated

Frustrated

With all the good things going on right now for me, the bad things are getting under my skin MORE then anything!!
My entire lunch hour was dedicated to make many phone calls....sooo hard.
Soo...I find out from my RH that b/c we didn't make the mininum...(by only 20 people or less actually) that the children under 10 are FULL price AND so are the vendors, until we reach our minimum!! Are you kidding me'?!?!?!?! I mean, I am already paying THIS much extra, and now you're telling me this!!! I am actually verrry annoyed at my RH. And, they are telling me that I MUST pay the MD tip BEFORE the wedding..that's its due two weeks prior! HOW can you tip someone two weeks before they service you????? I don't get it. I hear all these other girls getting extras thrown in for not reaching their min., and I just get squat. Is it m fault that almost 80 people or MORE said no...and that alot of my OWN family isn't coming? Isn't that enough to deal with on TOP of all this other wedding stress??

Sorry...I just needed to let that out.. I'm a little annoyed at my RH...and now I'm about $1500 short, b/c the RH isn't playing nice. Otherwise we would have been smooth sailing...SUCH BUL.L!!

I am so sorry you have to deal with that crap! I would be piiised about the tip thing! There is no way they will let you put it off? If not I would tip the absolute MINIMUM and be sure to let the RH know that I would have gladly given the person more the day of but since I am being forced to they are losing out on it.. It is not far to take it out on the MD but it is even LESS fair that you have to tip someone (which I always thought tips were at YOUR discretion???) before they perform the freakin service!

Re: Frustrated

Yeah..I KNOW! When we go on Tuesday to make our final payments, I'm just not going to bring enough for the tip...OOOPS. Then, I'm also going to give him a fair share of my mind...it's not like this was cheap... isn't $20Gs ENOGH!?!?!?

crasher that is what my hall is doing to save me money...because if you pay for the 20 under the minimum you still pay half for the kids....by charging you full price for kids you may only be 10 under your minimum.....so this way is better for you.....

We only can have the kids half price if we reach OVER our min. He even said that if we had exactly our min then the kids would STILL be half price...it's sooo annoying. They should have explained this to us BEFORE we signed the contract...AUGH!

Its really not fair...I wish I read up more about this before I booked with them...I have such a bad taste in my mouth from them...It's sickening...they are theives!! Literally. DOn't they know that times are hard..>Geeez.

but it still sounds like he is trying to help you....lets say you were paying $100 a head for adults and $50 for kids and vendors....if he does it by charging you for people not there and half price for kids (i'll assume there are 15) you would be paying $2000 for people who arent there plus $750 for the 15 kids and vendors (15x$50)totalling $2700...if he charges you full price for the kids and the adults to help you get to the minimum...it works out to only $2000 because you are paying for the 15 kids and vendors at $100=$1500 and 5 x $100=$500 for the 5 you are under minimum (because 20 under -15 counted from vendors and kids =5)....this way is only $2000 so it should be cheaper, most rhs do this as a courtesy, not to hurt you maybe bm didnt explain it right

I can understand being annoyed about having to come up with the Maitre'd tip two weeks in advance of your wedding. I agree that doesn't sound right.

However, when you signed your contract, you guaranteed a minimum # of guests, which means you agreed to pay for that # of people, whether that many people showed up or not. That isn't your RH's fault.

Oh no..I get what you are saying.... that if they first charged me up to the mininum even if we didn't make it AND THEN add the kids on half price after that..no. that's not the situation I'm dealing with..otherwise I would just faint right now. But Now I'm just paying full price for the vendors AND the kids...just to make my min...when in all honsesty if they informed us of the kids being half price at the very start, we would have made our min lower b/c we KNEW how many kids would be there.... Augh! But whatever....
Oh, and I'm not getting anything extra thrown in...mayb something on Tuesday will change, but I doubt it...

I know that it's not the RH's fault of not reaching my min... I know that I signed the contact... that's not the issue. I was informed 6 months ago that the kids under 10 were half pice...so that means, duh...kids are half price. So, they should have mentioned then and there that you need to reach your min in order to have the kids half price b/c I would have made a smaller min to be on the safe side. When I told them how many I was inviting, they are te ones to tell me what my min should be. But after reasearching it now, they put it on the 'high' end according to the amount of NO everyone is getting is highter due to today's economy....ya know???

Ask for, at the very least, the food that you are paying for but not eating to be wrapped up. We took home 9 full meals which we froze and ate every few days. They were also going to give us 9 salads, rolls, etc. but we didn't have enough storage space! You are paying for it, the kitchen should be prepared to cook it, so you might as well get to eat it eventually.

so tell them you counted the children in the minimum to begin with...perhaps a miscommunication on his end otherwise you wouldn't have guaranteed so many and ask him if for the trouble they can throw stuff in!!!!!!!

They already told us that ANY food that is prepared by them will NOT be allowed to leave the RH....except the top part of the cake!! I already tried.....

But I don't think you understand that by allowing you to count your vendors and the kids as full-paying adults, they are helping you meet your minimum, and actually trying to meet you halfway. I'm sorry you fell so far below your minimum. I think the best piece of advice I ever received and could ever give anyone about planning a wedding would be to negotiate the lowest minimum guarantee possible.

I didnt know either until I found out from a previous bride. its ridic the amount of $$$ these halls get.

Dont worry, in the end the hall/staff will proove its worth the $$

ETA: dont worry, you can get some meals taken home

I already told them that the final count was including 13 children...they idn't want to hear it...That is NOT including the vendors...either. I can understand paying for 175 plates...that's is FINE...but the vendors and kids that are there should STILL be half pice... I paid you 20Gs over the past year, the last you can do is help me out with this!!! Ya know??
