i dont know, maybe im just overwhelmed but the wedding process is making me crazy, i feel like there is so much to do, and i know its 15 months away, but somehow, in wedding world i feel like 15 months isnt that long to have to accomplish my list, anyone else feel this way?

I am starting seeing all these checks all I have done is RH DJ and kinda church they dont have a 2011 calender yet lol I just keep saying to my self that its far away and everything will work out.

I did at first, but then we started to book vendors and I feel better now. Attack one thing at a time, we did the RH and church first, then we concentrated on a photographer and once that was booked we worked on a DJ and that should be done this week. Just take it one step at a time and it will be fine.

i guess its just the over all idea of every little detail, and the fact that im a perfectionist and i feel the need to get everything done all at once and make it all absolutely perfect, but how can you not be like this, its my wedding, i just, need to not be so stressed so i can enjoy all the little parts of it...but yet, its sooo easy to get overwhelmed in all of this

Do you have a list of things to do? If not I can send you my list of everything you need to do for a wedding. (My FI did it on excel and he's soooo super organized.)
I definitely felt that way when we got engaged. I'm in school in Albany and although I do come home for the weekends every two weeks, it's not always the case. So, I really felt like we would never get anything done w/ our schedules. Also, I'm so disorganized, but my FI who's the exact opposite made a list of things we need to do. That was sooooo helpful and really reduced a lot of stress.
First we decided to get the RH, Church and Band out of the way.
Next, we are going to tackle video/photograhy, then florist, so forth. I think the most stressful part of all this is having to see vendor after vendor after vendor. And, some of these vendors are just soooooo pushy. That's my least favorite part of this whole process.

i agree with the pushy vendor part, one of the photographers i liked, called me like every day to set another appt. and its making me lean away from him, with all the planning, do we really need more stress to sign a contract?
i kind of have a list, but if you could send me yours too, maybe it would help, and i would be able to breathe again! thanks so much!

I thought I had plenty of time, and then I realized I was kidding myself. I have about 7 months to plan this thing and I am SOOOO stressed. who the hell plans a wedding in less than a year? Me apparently. such an idiot!
*also use the knot.com checklist... hate it because it puts alarm clocks next to everything that is late or should have been accomplished already.... i have close to 25 clocks staring at me saying you are going too slow!!

I know how you feel. I mean, I'm getting married in a year and a half but for some reason I feel like Im pressed for time with some things. I know I have plenty of time, but at the same time, I feel like I dont.
In the back of my mind, I know everything will work out!

If a vendor is being pushy, don't use them ... if this is how they are now, imagine how annoying they'll be at your wedding! especially something like a photographer who's around you the ENTIRE day!

I'm almost done with my planning - But I spread it out over 1 year. (I got engaged August 08).
All in all it maybe took me 4 months (I spread it out over a year but altogether maybe 4 months) to finish everything.. so don't stress. I'm also very picky and met with a billion vendors, so chances are it will take you even less time.
