FSIL's Dress
So, my FSIL (one of them anyway) went and bought a dress for the wedding. She apparantly has been bugging FH to get me to look at it and give it my 'stamp of approval' because she knows I don't want family members wearing the same color as my girls. So, what color do you think her dress is?????
Nope, not white, but close - she kept calling it champagne, but to my eye it looked diamond white, maybe a very very light ivory. So, when she says isn't it pretty - I have to admit that it is, but when she made the comment about not matching my girls, I couldn't help myself, and told her I didn't want anyone to match ME either
Why do people do this????

The amazing thing about people is that they will never cease to amaze you! WOW... is she getting a different dress or staying with that one???

Because they don't freaking think sometimes.
I have scrapped numerous gorgeous ivory/champagne dresses for that very reason.
BTW Andrew challenged me to a game of 9-ball saying he could kick my butt. So now guess where we're going in about 15 minutes??
Yup, Instant Replay....

I have no idea. I don't know if my comment about not matching the bride made an impact on her. She just kept going on about the 'duster' that goes with the dress and how it 'makes' it. UGH!!

Re: FSIL's Dress
I'm in a similar boat... just found out my FSIL's dress is the same color as the bridal party. And to top that.... my FMIL is wearing a dress she has in her closet already that she bought for FSIL's boyfriend's parent's renewal of vows!!!

Re: FSIL's Dress
OMG! Sounds like maybe she wants the attention to be focused not on you but on her instead. I would tell her it's pretty but not appropriate. If she didn't take the tags off, she can return it!

Re: FSIL's Dress
That is crazy!I just mail ordered a pink dress to wear to a wedding. Well, in person it is very pale pink. Back to the store it goes! Gorgeous dress but I won't do that.

Only a crazy FSIL would wear white (or off white) to a wedding - translation - MINE!
As for the Instant Replay - either I mentioned it or BKtoLI mentioned it. As for the bigger room - yea, we miss it too. The Town of Huntington refused to give them a parking variance for 3 - yes 3 parking spaces so they were forced to shut it down since the capacity and the parking spaces didn't match. Don't even get me started.

Re: FSIL's Dress
I'm not sure what you can say or do, but aren't there rules?? I would never in a million years wear white to anyone's wedding. That's like stealing the brides thunder. Not that I would think much of it being the bride, but it makes me laugh that people just don't think.
