i would call her back and yell at her!!!! tell her it was EXTREEMLY rude to say those things, that she ruined your surprise, diminished all the work and effort your family put in to surprising you that day and tell her she doesnt need to come or send a gift because you are APPALLED by her behavior

Well that just makes me angry. I would be hard pressed to invite her to the wedding now.

Tell her you are not asking for gifts. A simple congratulations and regrets that she can't make it will do, and thanks for ruining the surprise.

Some people need to be updated on how to behave themselves.

WOW. Not only did she ruin the surprise, but she is being completely ungrateful that she was even invited. Showers are a way to celebrate with people who are close to you and those who will soon be family. Is this something else they do not know in Kansas? Maybe she would change her tune if someone told her?

the brides plan their own showers there..its more like a girls get together then a suprise

ive been to them there and they are exactly the same as in NY..just no suprise

but this is FH sister..not so rude friend..and she has to be in my wedding..i hate her a lot

That Friggen Suks!!!!!!!!!!! I would act surprised just because I wouldnt want to hurt my mom's feelings, knowing she is working so hard at it. I would have my FH scream at his sister if she did that!! I know I want to be surprised too for my shower, and would be so mad if someone ruins it for me!
