FUN QUESTION FOR ALL THE LADIES AND...MEN TOO
Most of us have been in long term relationships. What do you do to break the monotony in your relationships. I would love to hear the ideas out there.Hubby and I started this in March, where we have a standing date night the 3rd friday of every month...it is unbreakable. We both alternate planning something every month. The date does not have to be dinner or movies or anything that cost. It just has to be time for the both of us alone, planned by the other. I found this idea in the O magazine.
We volunteet together, coming up next month he is my co-site captain for NY Cares day. I love the man

We are Thursday nights. No matter what each of us has to come up with something different to do. Thursday is 'us' day. Next week I have planned to go to a corn maze. It is a haunted house sort of thing in Melville. I hope he enjoys it.

Shamma, that's great, my FH & I do that at least once a month, it's kinda hard for us sometimes because his job is so demanding, but we try to have at least one romantic night out per month. We also try to do something once a month that makes the other happy, I watch a football game with him (I don't like football but I'll sit & watch a game with him because it makes him happy), and in turn he'll do something that makes me happy like he'll make dinner or something that he normally doesn't do.
I really like that volunteering idea!!!

We have date night every other Friday. And everyday we ask each other 'why do you love me today?'
And the goal is to come up with something that you've never come up with before, even it it's completely ridiculous and silly.

Re: FUN QUESTION FOR ALL THE LADIES AND...MEN TOO
we plan surprise date nights for each other - not on any set schedule, we just do them whenever. He plans some and I plan some - we just tell the other person to save the date.If fact, Al proposed on a surprise date weekend in yosemite

There not always surprises. There have been some interesting ones - go-cart racing, going to the pistol range, ballroom dancing, camping, and some more normal ones - concerts, dinners, plays, etc.
Also, as a wedding gift, a friend gave us 6 months in the wine club (2 bottles a month) - and everytime we drink one of those bottles, we're supposed to tell each other a story we haven't told before. We've only been through 2 bottles so far, but its really fun (and challenging) coming up with a story.

well.. I have a 6 year old so 'date night' is not as easy anymore as it used to be.We try to spend time together every night after my son goes to bed.
Sometimes those quickies in the morning after the school bus comes works for us too..
Heheh
Enjoy it while you can ladies.. when the children come it gets THAT MUCH BETTER!!!

I wish we could commit to a date night, our schedules are crazy!
We came along on my friend's date night, it was fun, we went to dinner. Does that count?
But I do crazy things...like make up a striping game on long car trips. It makes for an interesting ride.
Or my FH likes to start food fights. That's something different.
