Furniture! Please share your positive stories!

Hi Ladies- I'm closing with my FH on a house 3/31. Where to look for furniture ? Please share your furniture company recommendations!! TIA

We have been looking like crazy all I can say is on Rt. 110 there are a ton of stores that is where we have started.

We were super-happy with our experience with Pier 1, if you like theit stuff. We got a fantastic deal on our bedroom set and everything was delivered before the intial date we'd been given. I saw a dining table set that I love and want to get.

We also ordered from Seaman's and Levitz. We love the pieces, but in both instances the delivery dates were pushed back. It actually happened twice with our couch and chair, which was annoying because at the time we had no furniture at all and had to sit on the floor.

i was looking on furniture.com. which combines seamans and levitz. i really liked some of the sets and since were closing but not moving in right away due to getting work done on the house, i was curious about delivery dates. etc. how is the quality of their stuff?

We have ordered from Fortunoffs and levitzs so far. In both cases they were on time and the delivery people were very nice. I cant complain at all about either place! With Levitz we bought our furniture in early June and scheduled the delivery for early July with out an issue. Fortunoffs has certain days that they deliver to certain areas! I will say Fortunoffs delivery fees were alittle steep!

We ordered our kitchen table and outdoor furniture from Fortunoffs and apparently with our patio set there is a defect in the cushion fabric so it fades. So they called to tell me about it and ask if I wanted to delay shipment until the new cushions were in. I was hesitant, so the guys said well if you want we can deliver now and then just ups the new cushions when they are available! So that is what we did and now we have 2 sets of cushions. Ours havent faded but its nice to know they are there! And we got the whole summer of use out of it. If we had of waited we wouldnt have gotten the set until mid August!!!

Giga Furniture

Their furniture is the best. I bought it online and then had to put it together. Solid wood .. it would sell for triple that at Pottery Barn or Sonoma..

Everyone loves my shaker furniture!

So far I only got a couch We got it from levitz and I was happy with the service there and my delivery was on time, and the couch was not damaged. I have heard not so good stories about Levitz though. Maybe I was a lucky one!

I ordered from Seamans on two separate occasions. A large living room sofa set. They told me it would be about 8weeks away... and they were about right.

I then ordered a king sized matress and bed frame from them later in the year. That I got within a week as promised.

No complaints. But all furniture places suck IMO.

We had good luck with Rooms Unlimited for a love seat, chair and ottoman. Also, All-Wood for a kitchen table and chairs.

i just went to the peter andrews furniture store on Smith St off of rt 110. they had some gorgeous pieces there!!! just stunning!

OMG I had the worst luck with them!!!! Horrible it took 7 months to get the crap straightened out and it's still not completely right. We are looking into suing. It has been nothing but a tourture experience with them Please be very careful in dealing with them.

ETA Please check out the BBB before using any of these stores. If we had we NEVER would have went with Rooms Unlimited, they had something at the time like 54 complaints lodged against them in the 36 month period

As far as delivery, everyone was on time. As far as quality, we are in the process of reselecting living room sofa and loveseat because the supports gave affter only a few months (from Seaman's) They have been nice in the process, but we are sad because the set was discontinued.

A really good customer service experience was with Pottery Barn. We ordered a headboard. It was backordered. It finally came in and they delivered the wrong color. When I called to complain that I had waited so long and when it came it was wrong, they told me that they would refund me half of my purchase price on receipt of the correct headboard. They correct headboard came in a month later and I was given the refund within a few days and used it to buy wall sconces for either side of the new headboard!!

I've had great experiences with Ethan Allen.
More than one year after we bought an end table, something started chipping...we have no idea why, maybe we did it..anyway, I called the service department. The guy came out here a week later, took pics of the table, and replaced the table at no cost to us!

Our dogs have scratched a few of our dining room chairs, we called the service department again, the guy is great (same guy always comes to our house), and he's more than happy to touch up the chairs, they came out great.

EDITED FOR UPDATE:

We finally found some furniture our Sectional we are ordering from Penn Furniture on Rt. 110 - Farmingdale and in the past 3 months I have 4 friends that ordered from them and took delivery already and were very satisfied.

Our dining room set (table, chairs & china cabinet) are coming from Tiffany Furniture Rt. 110 - Farmingdale again, I know a few people that have ordered from them and have been very happy.

We are doing all our ordering tonight also let me close by saying they both had a huge selection.
